What do you find great about other countries and the people in them? I mean we all are proud to be from our own countries but what do you admire about people from other lands. The thing I like about Americans is their resiliance. When the going gets tough you guys just get tougher. Also your dollar is going down which means ours is going up. What do you like about other cultures?

I love the freedom of the French, and the spirit of survival in the Middle East. I love the pride of the Russian athletes and the beauty of India's religious culture. I love the luck of the Irish, all of the folk lore that came from that area, and I love the amore of Italy..and their food! I love Mexico's fiesta and I love America, my home sweet home, for freedom, sweet freedom! God bless this WORLD! Space Case76

Date: 5/13/2002 11:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 28193    I like the different forms of humor. I work with a woman from England, and she lets me borrow her Benny Hill, and Mr. Bean movies. I loaned her a Jim Carrey movie, but I don't think she thinks he's too funny....at least in this movie... It was "Cable Guy".

Date: 5/14/2002 4:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 50249    I am with Azayria in this one. I love the different languages and accents. I love the way people speak those languages. I like the uniqueness of every culture!
Date: 5/14/2002 4:48:00 AM  From Authorid: 25527    It seems to me that many western cultures are becoming more alike. The americanisation of the world through the mass media.I England people are getting upset the prime minister is becoming more like a president.Europe is quite different to everywhere else. The french are supposed to be obnoxious, but have the most beautiful languages in the world. The italians are firy, stylish and enthusiastic.the spanish, are loud, talk fast, and pretty relaxed. The germans sound gruff, and are said to be methodical.Italian food is my favourite. Then you have all of eastern europe, with croatia, poland, bosnia, etc.So many languages, and ancient cultures crammed together. Asia, is mystical, with a combination of beautiful languages, scenery, food and poverty, dictatorships and communism. The middle east, is interesting, ancient, enshrouded in history.Africa, eciting, surreal, beautiful, yet scary. The worlds a great big place. But theres no place like hom, Ireland rules man.Same for everyone else i guess.some people manage to find another country that they feel suits them well also. But i think home is where the heart is.A lot of people who emigrated during the 50's up to the 80's have come back to ireland now that the economy is better and there are more jobs available.I love to travel and meet new people. Not have all of the creature comforts and similarities brought with me as i go along.thats what makes life different!
Date: 5/14/2002 6:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 12581    I love all the other cultures and countries. I find it facinating how societies can differ in different geographical locations. I just find it totally facinating!!I couldn't even begin to name all the things I love about other cultures. I tend to know more about the Native American Culture though. When I lived in LA, I had friends from all over the world, it was a wonderful expereince, there were friends from the middle east, from Vietnam, China and Japan, I had a teacher that was from Africa. The culture was very refreshing and new and I loved learning about how their cultures differed from my own. Thanks so much for sharing this and You Take care of yourself!!
Date: 5/14/2002 6:13:00 AM  From Authorid: 15157    The different Food gets me going in other cultures...Sorry but I`m a Texan and we think food is a BIG FIESTA all the time lol...we go to New Braunsfels when we feel a little German...and go to the east side of town when we feel for soul-food!...Mexican food is the biggest thing here in Texas!...Ya can`t throw a rock without hitting a Mexican restaurant!LOL and Thankyou for your view about American Resiliance
