I WAS A GEEK---kurtvedder

In the beginning kurtvedder was a young man with a big problem. The problem poor old kurt had was that he stuttered. Years of taunting and speech therapy made him into one of the most depressing people you could ever meet. Then one day he got sick of this. He started locking himself in his room and started singing along to his favourite bands copying their styles and breathing techniques. One day kurtvedder was singing "Rooster" by Alice in Chains when he jumped up and down excitdly. Kurtvedder was holding notes that were hard for most people with marginal talent. His family and friends also noticed that he had stopped stuttering and was more of an extrovert in his day to day life. All this lead to kurtvedder singing in Karoake bars and he gained a small following of fans. The once introverted and depressed child who had been taunted and ridiculed was now being held up as a figure to be admired. This is just to everyone who feels like a geek in their surroundings. Their is always hope but you have to find that hope. Take things into your hands and you too can become admired and liked.

Date: 5/13/2002 8:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 21266    I have a 'problem' with stuttering as well. It's not so bad though, but sometimes the words cease to come out, and that causes quite a *big* embarrassment.
I liked it that you overcame your problem though.

Date: 5/13/2002 10:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 28899    Way to go! I used to have a studdering problem too. I guess it wasn't that bad, since one day I noticed how ridiculous I sounded and ordered myself to stop . Like you said, there's always hope...
