Oh get a grip!! LOLOL..havent you ever heard of Ladies before Gentlemen?? Besides if we had a parents day we ALL know that it might as well be called Father's Day because the Men would NOT lift a finger to do anything!! Mother's Day is a day for not only the children to thank their Mom, but also for the Husband to thank the woman who gave birth to his children!! Dont mess with good thing or Im gonna break your fingers!! :P:P xoxo |

I see absolutely NOTHING wrong with Mother's Day coming before Father's Day. I mean, heloo, they both come before the kid's celebrations (Chriatmas Day), right? lol, I wouldn't care if Father's Day came before Mother's Day. It makes no difference. I just think that May sounds like a motherish month & June sounds like a fatherish month (lol, WEIRD:P)there's nothing sextist about Mother;'s Day coming before Father's day. Someone's always trying to compare things. That's like saying why do people work before they play? lol, this is my opinion. *hugz*, |

"Parents Day" would be offensive to all NON-parents. Why should people who choose parenthood have a special holiday in their honor while NON-parents have NONE? What about "Single and desperately searching Day" or "Career-oriented individuals who choose not to pro-create Day"? If we are going to big, whiney PC'ers, we may as well be big whiney PC'ers all the way, right?... |

Wow...I might have umm. COme across something here in my sad attempt at humor. Why the outrage at creating a gender neutral day? So what if women bring kids into the world. Does this mean they should have their own day? Does it make them more special? I'm not answering no or yes to these btw. |

Are you for real? Is this a real valid 'it's-so-unfair' whine? Gimme a break-- and you guys might think that we are the weaker sex-- but it's the men who lay on the couch and expect to be waited on hand and foot when they're sick. Us WOMEN keep on working, keep their kids happy and keep the house clean and have dinner on the stove regardless of how we feel. You men wouldn't even begin to be able to handle the pain and agony of childbirth. HA! Who's weaker?? Women? I think not. LMAO |

Wouldn't it be nice if we actually live in a martiarchal society? A woman could actually be president! But we don't. Oh and the gender neutral day..... Hallmark wouldn't like that at all. The cut in card sales would not be good for the economy. LOL Peace, |

ROTFLMBO!!! This is great!!! I think a gender neutral day would be great...it could be placed precisely between mother's and father's days. LOL. And while we're at it we could add a new holiday, a holiday weekend even. We could call it the "Do You Really Think You're So Special That People Would Really Create Holidays With The Sole Purpose Of Offending You?...Get A Grip And Relax" Day. Awwwww, but see, the people that are easily and otherwise unnecessarily offended would take offense to that so I s'pose it's a no go. Oh well. BTW, R1, I'm not talking about you...I feel that you really don't feel that way about the holidays...LOL. Take care and I got a huge chuckle out of this post and the responses...Gallytuck. |

OK, take a look at various languages..the ones where ALL nouns have gender. The masculine is always stronger than the feminine so I guess this makes up for it. There's always something that the PC people can latch onto and moan about if they look hard enough. |

When men and women are capable of giving birth, then we can have a parents day, but since the mother is the first one to bond with the child, then Mother's Day should come before Father's Day. ~*Real Tears*~ |
