Stem Cell Research

I have heard so much about the great debate over Stem Cell Research lately. I think it is a good idea. But, I have a personal reason to want the research done. My boyfriend was born legally blind. It is not corrected by lenses b/c his optic nerve is half the size of what it should be. This means no glasses can help. The only possible chance he has to see like we do is Stem Cell Research. They could possibly find a why to grow new cells for his optic nerve. My boyfriend is a poet and future english professor. He loves to read. Imagine how fustrated he gets when after reading for 15 or 20 minutes his eyes hurt. I want to hear what others think about Stem Cell Research. Thanks, TarheelGirl

Date: 5/11/2002 2:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 46530    As stem cells are the most basic form of cells in the body I don't see the problem, So long as they stick to treating injuries and disabilities. Then again when has technology ever been restricted to just that?

Date: 5/16/2002 9:30:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53689    I guess I feel so strongly because I see him get fustrated so much because there are things that he can do. I prey for a way to restore his sight. TarHeelGirl
