Date: 5/10/2002 10:45:00 PM From Authorid: 5301 ... I think that the last time we had a fund-raiser here, Radman and Ginger went to Mardi Gras with the proceeds and... well... I'm not going to be the one that spreads any rumours! |
Date: 5/10/2002 10:47:00 PM From Authorid: 16845 LMAO @ hekler...LOL aw it's sweet you wanna donate maybe you should talk to ginger or radman about it! |
Date: 5/10/2002 11:02:00 PM From Authorid: 5301 ...darned right I'd make a contribution to help keep and improve the quality of this site |
Date: 5/11/2002 1:55:00 AM From Authorid: 998 Well, we wouldn't say no to donations for this site. I'm not sure we have ever asked for any, but it is said to never look a gift horse in the mouth. Ewwie, that sounds a bit gross. I mean horses don't even brush ... LOL. *makes notes to self, Don't comment after midnight* ... he he he. Ok, back to business. Yes, we would be happy to accept anything you might want to give. This site costs approximately $250.00 per month, and that is only for the connect fee and fast DSL connection. All the volunteers, Radman, and myself donate all of our time to help keep this site a unique and great site. That figure doesn't include any other costs such as the two fast computers for USM. The server and other software that was purchased for USM to run on, nor the electricity 24/7/365. There is a fund that was set up years ago, that we have solicited for however. That fund allows us to channel donations that are sent in from the amazing guests on this site, to be given to other USM-ers that are in need. We were petitioned by the guests of this site to set this fund up, so that others could receive assistance. Almost everyone has been there at sometime or another. It has been terrifically rewarding to be granted the trust to disperse funds when we see fit. Many guests of this site, who are people we call friends and sometimes family have been on the giving and receiving end of this fund ... and both sides are kept confidential. So whether you wish to give to support this site, or possibly better yet ... to support others ... please label your donation so we know which you wish your funds to go towards. For either, please send to ... Renasoft ... 8554 122nd Ave. N.E. PNB# 28 ... Kirkland, WA. 98033 |
Date: 5/11/2002 2:18:00 AM From Authorid: 47151 Why dont ginger and radman just put a little, A LILLTE, commercials on the site. Just a small ad or something on the top, and make some money that way... |
Date: 5/11/2002 2:57:00 AM From Authorid: 46530 A better idea than ads would be if ginger and radman set up an account, put the acc number and sort code somewhere on here, so that we could simply transfer bank-to-bank if we wanted to. It would give us a chance to litterelly pay them back for the great work they do and help keep this site we use and love so much running, and those two sane (if that's possible) |

Date: 5/11/2002 5:58:00 AM From Authorid: 28363 I think this info should be added to the FAQ page if it is not there already-- bookmarked cuz i want to send a donation to a site that has caused much happiness and it keeps me coming back for more. |
Date: 5/11/2002 6:13:00 AM From Authorid: 47983 That's a wonderful idea! It'll do good to them, and for all of us. |

Date: 5/11/2002 6:51:00 AM From Authorid: 30729 That's a very good idea. I have thought of this before. I would gladly. luv,Jennifer aka-> |

Date: 5/11/2002 8:27:00 AM From Authorid: 53806 I believe that if they needed money they would ask for it. Atleast I hope they would. Wouldn't they? |
Date: 5/11/2002 8:31:00 AM From Authorid: 53806 I guess they would. (just finish reading GINGER'S post) The money is in the mail. |
Date: 5/11/2002 8:33:00 AM From Authorid: 53806 I mean Ginger's *COMMENT* |
Date: 5/11/2002 8:54:00 AM From Authorid: 16069 If you feel like giving them money, ask them. Im sure they wont have a problem with it. |
Date: 5/11/2002 9:03:00 AM From Authorid: 33573 Oh thats a good idea. Well when I get a job I will help out |
Date: 5/11/2002 9:08:00 AM From Authorid: 39957 I wouldn't mind. |
Date: 5/11/2002 9:27:00 AM From Authorid: 35720 Punk Devil, I like how they don't have commercials. I am going to donate some of my birthday money to USM I think. My birthday is May 23 so it's coming up! *HUGS* |
Date: 5/11/2002 9:30:00 AM From Authorid: 22852 Donation on the way.. I think this is great and Maybe a Donation button could be added, I would have been donating sooner if I knew this option was here. Big Hugs |
Date: 5/11/2002 9:31:00 AM From Authorid: 13119 Gee guys! Even if I sent a million dollars Canadian it would only be ten dollars American! |
Date: 5/11/2002 9:38:00 AM From Authorid: 27046 You know I have always said that if everyone just sent in $1 a month there would be a WHOLE lot of money not only to run the site, BUT to fill the USM fund that goes to the families that need the money....I REALLY think that I would rather have USM for $1 a month AND help out someone that may be in trouble than make that 20 minute call for $.99......~~~ |
Date: 5/11/2002 9:41:00 AM From Authorid: 25046 Getting it ready to send now...Great idea |
Date: 5/11/2002 9:54:00 AM From Authorid: 17014 Does it matter how much we send at a time? Is there a minimum? |
Date: 5/11/2002 10:46:00 AM From Authorid: 50435 LMBO@Magoo. That's SUCH an exaggeration! Only ten dollars US for a $1 000 000 CDN. I don't know. Check your exchange rate. I checked this morning and the reality is that it's worth $17.48 US....ROTFLMBO!!! So Magoo, you and I and I think Enki should petition to have all future USM conventions up here, preferably Ottawa, or even Montreal, on the sole basis that the exchange rate would cut down on costs so much that the cost of travel and accomodation would be negligible. And so that I could actually attend. Is that selfish? Yeah, probably is, but I'm still holding ground...LOL. When my pogey(Canucks should know what that is...LOL)comes in next week I might just have to send some loonies and twoonies SWW of here. It'd be totally worth it. I just hope we haven't embarrassed Ginger and Radman by talking about this. Take care and for the price of a cup of coffee per day you, too, can support a USMer with something to say...LOL...Gallytuck. |
Date: 5/11/2002 12:18:00 PM From Authorid: 23101 I think that it would be o.k. When I met George and Ginger, the amount they pay for the site each month is ALOT. But they said it was worth it, and I totally agree!! It wouldn't be over-doing it. They might not take the money, and they might. *Smiles* I am sure they are just happy to have people consider it or think about it! *Huge Hugglies* Much Huge, And Kisses To You, |
Date: 5/11/2002 12:19:00 PM From Authorid: 23101 If you would like to send some, I am sure they would be very happy though! *Huge Hugglies* Much Hugs, and Kisses To you, |
Date: 5/11/2002 12:34:00 PM From Authorid: 42568 Thats a cool idea. I wish I could give money, but I don't have any!!! |
Date: 5/11/2002 12:49:00 PM From Authorid: 3321 That would be a nice thing to do, but once again it is not appropriate for anyone to even slightly pressure the people here for money. It is rude, and it is a sensitive subject that really shouldn't be touched. I honestly can't say even the intention makes it ok to ask for money-it is just not something you do, especially at this site. |
Date: 5/11/2002 1:06:00 PM From Authorid: 52781 LMBO @ Heckler!!! I think it's a super idea! Hugs and Love, |

Date: 5/11/2002 3:15:00 PM From Authorid: 53914 yes i think that msybe overdoing it but the site gives out lots of col stuff but i think u would lose a lot of ppl then they would just find a different site so i say nooo money or cost no tax or gst i mean were already payin for the interneeeet arent we soo no money what so ever ok |
Date: 5/11/2002 3:41:00 PM From Authorid: 48412 Alright Ill send my donation with Abzys ...Luv this site u can say its like home =) |
Date: 5/11/2002 3:44:00 PM From Authorid: 46486 If or when I get a job I'll make a donation to USM, its a great site, and what Ginger said how much it costs each month, well that's a lot! |
Date: 5/11/2002 3:50:00 PM From Authorid: 8184 It's a nice idea and they do pay quite a bit, but like Little Jung said, it IS worth it! |
Date: 5/11/2002 4:22:00 PM From Authorid: 26573 They could also add banners that with one click, could make a donation to PayPal. |
Date: 5/11/2002 4:38:00 PM From Authorid: 16916 I wish I had money to send sorry guys, I can barely make ends meet right now, When I have some extra money, Ill keep that in mind |
Date: 5/11/2002 5:25:00 PM From Authorid: 12828 Ill do my hardest to send some, =) |
Date: 5/11/2002 5:37:00 PM From Authorid: 44850 you are all very kind for offering so quickly to send money, HOWEVER, please keep in mind that if there were problems with the website funding ginger and radman would be asking for money or they would have ads on the site, please if you have extra money think of local charities first (i am not trying to tell you how to spend your money, but please understand someone down the street from you may need that money more than someone who has been able to fund this site alone for years) .... |
Date: 5/11/2002 6:57:00 PM From Authorid: 12103 Now i know where they live so i can stalk them..j/k This is such a great idea..for everything they do for us..and how they have paid for so much stuff..such as the campgroud for the convention and this site..i think they deserve something in return |
Date: 5/11/2002 7:59:00 PM From Authorid: 20750 Wowser!! What an awesome idea!! |
Date: 5/11/2002 9:04:00 PM From Authorid: 51744 You know that is a good Idea I will try and send some myself. ~TheGiggler21~~ |
Date: 5/11/2002 10:17:00 PM From Authorid: 998 Geeze, I did forget something very important. If you are on a limited budget, PLEASE do not send in anything to either of these funds. You need to think of yourself first and formost. Also, if you are considered a minor by law ... please make sure to get permission from your parents or gardians before you send any money to either of these funds. Also we were asked whom to write checks to ... the name is 'Renasoft', which is the parent company of UnsolvedMysteries.com. |
