Well, we wouldn't say no to donations for this site. I'm not sure we have ever asked for any, but it is said to never look a gift horse in the mouth. Ewwie, that sounds a bit gross. I mean horses don't even brush ... LOL. *makes notes to self, Don't comment after midnight* ... he he he. Ok, back to business. Yes, we would be happy to accept anything you might want to give. This site costs approximately $250.00 per month, and that is only for the connect fee and fast DSL connection. All the volunteers, Radman, and myself donate all of our time to help keep this site a unique and great site. That figure doesn't include any other costs such as the two fast computers for USM. The server and other software that was purchased for USM to run on, nor the electricity 24/7/365. There is a fund that was set up years ago, that we have solicited for however. That fund allows us to channel donations that are sent in from the amazing guests on this site, to be given to other USM-ers that are in need. We were petitioned by the guests of this site to set this fund up, so that others could receive assistance. Almost everyone has been there at sometime or another. It has been terrifically rewarding to be granted the trust to disperse funds when we see fit. Many guests of this site, who are people we call friends and sometimes family have been on the giving and receiving end of this fund ... and both sides are kept confidential. So whether you wish to give to support this site, or possibly better yet ... to support others ... please label your donation so we know which you wish your funds to go towards. A better idea than ads would be if ginger and radman set up an account, put the acc number and sort code somewhere on here, so that we could simply transfer bank-to-bank if we wanted to. It would give us a chance to litterelly pay them back for the great work they do and help keep this site we use and love so much running, and those two sane (if that's possible)  |

You know I have always said that if everyone just sent in $1 a month there would be a WHOLE lot of money not only to run the site, BUT to fill the USM fund that goes to the families that need the money....I REALLY think that I would rather have USM for $1 a month AND help out someone that may be in trouble than make that 20 minute call for $.99...... ~~~  |

LMBO@Magoo. That's SUCH an exaggeration! Only ten dollars US for a $1 000 000 CDN. I don't know. Check your exchange rate. I checked this morning and the reality is that it's worth $17.48 US....ROTFLMBO!!! So Magoo, you and I and I think Enki should petition to have all future USM conventions up here, preferably Ottawa, or even Montreal, on the sole basis that the exchange rate would cut down on costs so much that the cost of travel and accomodation would be negligible. And so that I could actually attend. Is that selfish? Yeah, probably is, but I'm still holding ground...LOL. When my pogey(Canucks should know what that is...LOL)comes in next week I might just have to send some loonies and twoonies SWW of here. It'd be totally worth it. I just hope we haven't embarrassed Ginger and Radman by talking about this. Take care and for the price of a cup of coffee per day you, too, can support a USMer with something to say...LOL...Gallytuck.  |

That would be a nice thing to do, but once again it is not appropriate for anyone to even slightly pressure the people here for money. It is rude, and it is a sensitive subject that really shouldn't be touched. I honestly can't say even the intention makes it ok to ask for money-it is just not something you do, especially at this site.  |

you are all very kind for offering so quickly to send money, HOWEVER, please keep in mind that if there were problems with the website funding ginger and radman would be asking for money or they would have ads on the site, please if you have extra money think of local charities first (i am not trying to tell you how to spend your money, but please understand someone down the street from you may need that money more than someone who has been able to fund this site alone for years) ....  |
