they dont teach spelling in skool's anymore, and a lot of kids use abriviations for things like school-skool, you-u etc as it is easier to write on the computer and faster!!!! k!!! is that any help hope so  |

i know what you mean!! I HATE that!! Occasionally if I'm in a hurry or something I'll take a little short cut, like to type thru instead of through, or tho instead of though. I never use the U for the word YOU though. Another thing I hate is when people put apostrophes on plural words. Drives me crazy!  |

Well I'm not that bad, but I always was bad at spelling. I was always the best reader in my class, but I confused my teachers by having terrible spelling. I also have terrible handwriting, but I'm good at art. You would think a person who can draw well should be able to write neatly; I guess not? I'm not in the 13-16 range, I'm 18. So maybe they don't teach spelling any more? Or maybe the kids are just trying to write in ebonics?  |

Skool could be an abreviation for school. Since when you type your finger has to reach all the way down to the next line of keys to reach the c when the k is right there on the home row. j/k, what a lame excuse LMAO |

I think abriviations are ok to use, but I don't think you can abriviate a word using letters not included in the actual word itself. I am not good at spellling myself and can find no fault in others for that, but the text messaging in posts really sucks.If it's important enough to post, use all the letters.  |

Yep. That's why I think they do it too, Author 52847. I have noticed that they type certain words the same way they are used on CD's & such. It's just a phase.
