what is your definition of beauty...read this and let me know!! *melancholy_spirit13*

Beauty is a matter of perspective. It is defined by...what?! What defines true beauty, and for that matter, who? Who decides "she is beautiful and she is not"...who really has the authority to decide such things?? Movie stars are beautiful (handsome, hott, ect.) because...because we are made to believe this is so. The media is constantly bombarding our impressionable minds with the "ideal man/woman"...the type of woman each man thinks he should worship...6'4", 120lbs., blonde hair, blue eyes, et al. ...or whatever is "in" for that era...and this same woman is what every woman, in some way, wishes she could be. "Role models"...these people are our role models?! Why because they can "look the look, act the act and walk the walk"?! Does this put them on a pedestal...I mean, if the world was about to end, and only a select few could live, would we pick THESE people? Okay, how about an easier question...would you (and if this scenario doesn't fit your sexual orientation...you can use your imagination, and change it to your will) rather go on a date with a buff guy, maybe 6'2" (how ever tall you'd prefer), gorgeous eyes/smile/hair, but whom you KNOW is an idiot...or a guy, maybe 5'4", about a medium build, whom YOU KNOW is far from attractive, but is charming and intelligent...any woman (who is TRUTHFUL) will say the former...or maybe, on paper one would say the latter, but use a little imagination and truly picture these people. Sure, maybe over time you could grow to love the latter, but the point is first impressions...is the first man BEAUTIFUL?!...think about it...and let me know...

maybe you don't know/care, ect. but that's not the point! you don't have to physically respond (although it would be appreciated :-D), but just think about it...how is beauty defined to you, personally...
