I got news for you...the high crime rate and being afraid to walk ths streets...nothing new. I studied ancient civilization. Things were no better or no worse than in say ancient Rome. |
Date: 7/10/2000 3:27:00 PM Thousands and thousands of years have passed and the human race still hasn't learned to be kind! The atrocities continues with more powerful weapons. No wonder there are so many reports of the Mother Mary statues weeping... |
Date: 7/10/2000 3:28:00 PM I absolutely agree with you, Norman!!! |
Date: 7/10/2000 8:24:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 9544 11723 you may have studied ancient civilization and Rome was surely bad but what I am speaking of here are events on a global scale that will and is affecting all of mankind and this world is just as bad as Rome if not much worse. Peace--Norman |
Date: 7/11/2000 1:08:00 AM Hi, Norman. *shakes hand* Your premise that the crime rate has changed in the last few years is not supported by the facts. I regularly receive information from the U.S. Justice Department RE: Crime and Violence. Their statistics indicate that the crime rate has remained relatively steady (percentage wise) for over 100 years (since records were first kept by various agencies). Promoting the idea that there are criminals around every corner is a product of government, religion and the news media. All who stand to profit by promoting the idea that crime is rampant in the streets. The facts do not support that argument. *hand shake* May peace and harmony be forever yours. /s/ J.T. |
Date: 7/11/2000 8:03:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 9544 1, I used to read statistics from the Justice Dept.too but it doesn't paint the whole picture. You may have forgotten that many crimes go unreported and I do believe you are aware of that. The government doesn't always tell the truth about many things and the reason for that is they don't want a nationwide panic on their hands. For example they say the job market and inflation is under control. You and I both know that is a bunch of malarky. Everytime I turn around I'm digging deeper in my pockets, rent is steadily going up, and I pity those nowadays who own automobiles. One tank of gas averages $1.75 a gallon now? Not getting off the subject but my argument is the governent simply doesn't paint the whole picture. Without a doubt the newspapers and the media do blow things out of proportion but crime is really bad and I am witnessing this myself. I have personally talked with homicide detectives and all of them told me they are still trying to solve murders going back 5 to 10 years. Not months but years. Who would have ever thought shootings are now becoming commonplace in our schools? Columbine High is but one incident and there are many others that are not widely publicized. When I use the term crime and violence in our streets that means you're not safe anywhere including small town America. For the government to tell you that crime is steady they are pulling the wool over your eyes and no offense but don't allow yourself to be naive to that. Peace--Norman |
Date: 7/11/2000 4:32:00 PM Norman--It is true that the crime rate mentalatity is on the increase but you have to remember what the Lord said through Daniel: There will be a time of trouble such has never been or ever shall be again. This trouble will have Satan as its leader for God shall turn the earth over to him. No longer will it be a crime to kill somebody, people will be killed because they are deceived into believeing it is the right thing to do. Whom will all this trouble come against? The saints of course, the ones who refuse to worship him, his image, or take his mark, or the number of his name. The mind set of some people is bad but times are going to get worse-much worse-. May the Day Star arise in your heart |
Date: 7/11/2000 7:48:00 PM From Authorid: 11211 You said it so well. I totally agree with you. I see this happening so often. It is so sad when people know the truth, and turn away from it. I'm thankful that there are still people who are willing to tell others, like you are doing here. Love and Prayers. WHITEDOVE. |
Date: 7/12/2000 5:36:00 AM From Authorid: 962 norman, don't be mad but everytime i read yer stories it seems to me that yer always after the head of the one who doesn't agree with you. r u always right that's why yer like that? no offense, but sometimes its too hard to handle. x! |

Author 962 you are very wrong about me. If I were mad because people disagree with me about a subject on my boards common sense should tell you I would have deleted them already. What you fail to realize is I am bearing witness for the testimony of Christ and you see that as being overbearing. The word of God is truly powerful and full of life and precious truths. Jesus didn't say it for nothing:"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." John 12:32. Peace--Norman |

Date: 7/13/2000 9:55:00 AM Hi Norman ..You do post some very interesting subjects..It is my hope,as well as yours, that some people will begin a diligent study of God's Word and compare with what is posted as His Words..I do see that some people resent more, the person who dare to post what God's Word says..They then accuse a person of judging or accuse one of claiming to have some God given authority..If these kinds of people would care to study God's Word themselves they would see where the authority to teach God's Word came from....Now regarding your post..The way I see it..There has to be more evil today because of population growth..It would make more sense to believe that where there are more people, there will be higher crime rates..Now..The more people turn away from God's righteousness, the deeper the world will go into all sorts of crimes,violence,filth,killings..destruction..This world is ruled by satan among many people..Take a short, not a long look around you(I say short because if you take a long look, you may become depressed)From the higher ups to our everyday people, there is so much ungodliness amoung them..Killings,drugs,people attempting to push their ungodly ways onto people and to enforce them as a way of life,in the name of their Rights..Take a look at each generation..Each one becomes worse..I can easily see "The days of Noah" coming..if you catch what I mean..Keep up your good work..May God bless and assist you in forever learning what the will of the Lord is..Sincerely Oxy |
