Dreamer Poet, thank you for your reply. I BEGGED for gas, they said they don't use it. I SOOOO wish they DID!!! I hate those darn shots. I really really hope the valium works in July. I just wish they would pull them, ALL OF THEM and give me dentures. I begged for them to do that but of course they won't because they say the teeth are fixable...... |

I just brush my teeth and take as good care of them as I can. Last time I went in, he didn't even have to look at my teeth, just glanced over and noticed my gums looked happy, so he left me alone. |

Becky, GET THE GAS, lol. If your dentists office uses it I STRONGLY advise it. Especially if they are going to be working on your mouth for a long period of time. Our family is cursed with our teeth I think. My mom had a full set of falsies when she was only 32. Some of the cavities are actually fillings they are replacing due to shoddy dentist work from my previous dentist. He was horrible, he just slapped the fillings in as quick as possible and did such a rush job that now I am going to end up paying for it twice. At least my new dentist took her time, I just wish I didn't need all this work done. My mouth still hurts and my gums are still really swollen from all the shots. But hey my teeth look better, LOL. Good luck on your appt. on the 20th, and thanks for your reply.......hugs |

JR, Sis, you are sooo lucky, I have horrible gums, and I floss but I was told I am not doing it good enough, which I agree with them because I am so quick when I brush and floss. I have a receeding gum line in back and they think it is from me pushing to hard when I brush. Pretty sad I am 30 and they gave me brushing lessons again, LOL. Thanks for your reply, big hugs sis............. |

Dreamer, I actually thought all dentists offered you the choice between shots and gas, I found out just how wrong I was, LOL. A very painful lesson to learn. All my previous dentists have offered me the choice. I don't know why this new dentist doesn't offer it, I might have to ask her about that in July. My gums are still swollen from all the shots, ohhhhhhh how I HATE HATE HATE those things!!! Hugs.......... |

I am so sorry you had such a terrible experience...I work for a dentist *covers head* and must agree it is the last place I want to spend my day...It is good that they are giving you Valium for your next appt and I would have them document it in your chart for all further visits...Hope you are doing better...(((HUGS))) |

Oh BTW some of Dentists dont use gas 1) because they have to be certified to use it and 2) because of the liability..I have even known Dr's (both male and female) who have refused to use it while they are trying to conceive a baby...Also anytime gas is being used an Asst or Dr is supposed to be present at all times..Best of luck...Wishing you a painless visit next time..(((HUGS))) |

Hey I hate not having insurance!!! I want to get alot of things done and can't. My insurance dropped me cause of my age. Anyhow I met a denist that cut me some slack though. I get cleaning every 3 to 6 months cheaper. But I want braces and I have 3 cavaties they are watching. Imagine without insurance~ I have had 1 root canal which I can say sweetie I would have pulled it if I was you. I am going to get mine pulled when I get my insurance back. Studies show root canals aren't so healthy and usually start infections. Now not meaning you will right away, but mine after 13 years is giving me problems. I have been put to sleep and had my wisdom's cut out. I have had like 8 cavities filled in my life. I have 3 they have been watching 6 years and another they were watching vanished. I was using magic and natural herbs on it. My dentist did 5 X-ways and picked at my tooth and had everyone in the office look they couldn't believe it. I didn't have a cleaning about 3 years before I found this dentist and I had the same cavaties as before. Now let me let you in on what worked for me. I use a braun Oral B electric tooth brush ok It knocks that trater for a loop. Colgate has an anit- everything pretty much tooth paste. Colgate total. I use sensydone now because I have sensitive teeth due to vitamin defency but I love Tom natural proplis and myrhh tooth paste you can get at health food stores it stimulates your mouth! All natural also. I will go back to that when my teeth get more vitamins. I believe you have so many because something is not totally right. You are either not brushing and flossing or not doing it right. And or you are lacking something in your body so it is taking it from the teeth which it goes to first making then easy to decay. When I started having gum problems due to stress lack of vitamins I did alot of research. I talk to alot of natural patheic DR. and learned alot from my research. If you get time hop on a search engine and type. Natural remedies to prevent tooth decay. Better way to prevent cavities. I have talked this dentist who is helping me with lower payments about natural ways to heal the body and he is passing it on to his patients. Get the dental work done and then figure out what your root problem is and nail it. Then those check ups won't be so nerve racking. You will know you have been taking care of the body as a whole. If you get one cavity compared to 8 you will be happy. I have been getting out of my dentist chair happy instead of dreading that 2 week from then appt. Take some Kava Kava before hand it will calm the nerves. Feel free to message me anytime. I feel for you I have been there!!! P.S I hate needles EWWW |

Hey, you are so not alone. I went once, when I was 2 or 3, I am 14 now. When I went, I was so afraid of him, that I kicked him in "the area" and bit him. He was the meanest dentist in our town, and why my mom chose to take me to him is beyond me. Anyways, I was kicked out of there. I am still terrified of dentists, so don't feel bad. |

Never, Ever go to a dentist that does not use laughing gas!!! My dentist uses it and he is the first that I ever went to that used gas! It is wonderful! And makes me goofy! I lay there on that dentist chair thinking things like, "You, know, Dr. Ausmus is the BEST dentist in the world. I think I will take out a billboard so everyone will know"! LMAO! Thank goodness the gas wears off before I am allowed to leave and spend all my money on billboards! I am SO SORRY your pain was so great! Go to another dentist! Love and Light |

LOL Racquie! I had a good laugh at your post. I know I should get to the dentist. I have a toothache too and I am terrified. I had 2 appointments and I called and cancelled the first one. Then they rescheduled me. When the day came for the second appointment, I cancelled again. (I faked a cold, with the fake sneezing even) which shows you how desperate I am. This time she said she needed to talk to the dentist and call me back. She did, then told me I have to have a same day appointment and not schedule me in advance. LOL! (I've yet to call them) |

I have a really great dentist, so I'm not too stressed out by going to see him.I do know what you mean about not putting off going to the dentist. I had a cavity for about 5 yrs. before I finally went to the dentist. It was a big mistake not to have that taken care of because it turned into a huge cavity. I lost half of my tooth and I have to have more work done on it. Now I need to get a crown put on it. He had to put pins in what was left of the tooth to hold the temporary filling in place. |
