the thought of getting old used to terrify me. i could not stand the thought of wrinkles and gray hair (how vane is that?!! lol). one day i asked my sister if she was scared of getting old. she said, "no way. just think of how wise we will be." for some reason, when she said that to me, it really stuck. it really changed the way i looked at getting older. instead of fearing it, i look forward to getting smarter and feeling more comfortable in my own skin. what's a few wrinkles compared to that?

how do you feel about growing old?

Date: 5/1/2002 9:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    I'll be forty in November and I'm fine with that. My mind is the best it's ever been. I have had so much time to accumulate so much knowledge and life experience and I wouldn't trade that for youth. Both have their advantages but I think I'm content staying just like I am. Ask me this again in twenty years and see what I say then.
Date: 5/1/2002 9:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 18376    Funny you should ask. I use all kinds of stuff on my face to keep looking young (vitamin C oil is great!!). I really don't mind adding years to my life, but I sure don't want to look it.
Date: 5/1/2002 9:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 35160    no , im not scared of getting old, growing older just reminds me im still alive, i look forward 2 each new day im still here, and i TRY 2 live as best i can, 8^) big huggs shay

No i am not worried of wrinkles or not having a perfect body anymore or ever really as long as my spirit is in joy with our father and beloved by everyone around me my life in existense is complete.
MAY YOU BE BLESSED IN EVERYWAY

Date: 5/1/2002 10:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 24003    I admit, it does scare me in a way. What scares me is..to think about suffering and not being able to take care of myself. Id rather die before i got THAT old.
Date: 5/1/2002 11:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    I guess I'm vain lmao! Because I am so Skeered!! *Shakes*
Date: 5/1/2002 11:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    well sweetie I suppose you'd say I was already old !!LOL!! and your right, I am, but I honestly dont feel old, I dont feel any older in the mind than when I was 25yrs, and besides whats wrong with a few laugh lines in the face, I'm a lot wiser than I was when I was 25, ageing is something out of our hands hun, so we have to accept it, as time stands still for no one..good post..cheers
Date: 5/2/2002 5:59:00 AM  From Authorid: 48809    Why worry about getting old, it only creates more wrinkles! How old is "old' anyway? Maybe I am already old and don't know it!lol. Why worry about dying ? We only leave here and go somewhere else! It does no good to worry about these things, we are not in control here , so all we can do is to accept what comes our way and let it go at that! Posey
Date: 5/2/2002 6:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 27534    Getting older can be a worry and it can also be a right of passage.....with each new year passed comes new and different changes....and I try to look at problems now as challenges....so getting older is a natural think in the order of things....how we handle the challenges defines us.
Date: 5/2/2002 6:52:00 AM  From Authorid: 46800    I can handle the age thing but not the gray hair, wrinkles, I will want a plastic body at 60...LOL
Date: 5/2/2002 7:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 48993    your born, you live and learn, you die...... i do not fear it !
Date: 5/2/2002 7:27:00 AM  From Authorid: 15394    just another day closer to freedom!!! lol Scared no, but... dont' like a lot of physical junk that goes along with it!
Date: 5/2/2002 1:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 24732    Wiser? Senility usually sets in when you get old.
Date: 5/2/2002 11:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 8941    I don't find growing old scary. I would love to watch my children grow up and have children, and sit on the porch swing with my husband saying "huh" to each other, lol The thought of dying young is what scares me.
Date: 10/26/2002 9:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 39887    I don't fear it but I dread the thought. Its not the wrinkles that worry me. I will hate giving up my old perfume fragrance for the new Ben-gay and vicks ones. I will dread the health problems and the loneliness. When you get so old, no one seems to like coming around anymore. I will hate giving up my freedom, driving and eventually my privacy and dignity.Oh yes, I will be wiser but who in the heck will care?
Date: 5/11/2005 12:14:00 PM  ( Admin-DNL )   It scares me a little bit, that is why you shoudl enjoy life as much as you can when you are young. I think there will be some happiness with getting older though, possibly having grandchildren will be fun
Date: 10/27/2006 6:46:00 AM  From Authorid: 54444    It scares me a little, but then--when you consider the alternative it's a no brainer. LOL
