Who believes in purgatory.

I was wondering who beieved or believes in purgatory. Right now there is a lot of controversy going on about Purgatory. I am a Catholic and Catholics are supposed to believe in Purgatory. But I don't believe in purgatory. There are a lot of translations about the word purgatory. Being a Catholic has made it hard for me in believing purgatory until today. My faithful christian friend in school told me that it doesn't matter what religion you are. In the bible it says that Jesus died for our sins and we are cleasned of them. That doesn't mean that we will not sin. When we sin we go and pray for forgivness of that sin. You see, and he was telling me that it does not exist because when you die you go directly to heaven and don't have to face purgatory. You wont have to face it, told me my friend because it is not real. I know I am Catholic and even Pope JOhn Paul II said that purgatory is more of a condition than a physical place. My friend told me that anybody can say that to make purgatory a real thing. It is like saying. ufos are unidentified flying objects and we cant see what they really are. but if it is changed like purgatory was changed you can say well Ufos are actually gasses of dust that have been around the earth for centuries and they are mistaken for Unidentified flying objects. YOu see. You can chang the meaning of the word to make it sound real or true. Purgatory is a place where you are supposed to go after death, and you will suffer here from the flames until you are cleansed of sin. It will be the most painfull place around. But Pope JOhn Pual II said it is a state of being, a condition not a physical place. You see how fast the word was changed within years. My friend also told me that purgatory came about through indulgenses in the church. If you didn't pay you would go there. Or somthing like that. Well I hope you understand my point of why I don't believe in Purgatory. I hope this isn't seriously wrong with what I am doing. OH yea and one more thing. the apocrypha is the books that are only found in the catholic bible. these books were not inspired by the holy spirt or god as the original part of the bible. It is just like putting a history book in there. Of course it is not going to be real. Most of it. God did not inspire these people. It is not part of the original bible. Well I am hopping some of you will agree with me. Please post what you have to say.

Made me think verry hard about some of the Catholic beliefs.
