what did she see

ok my friend told me this story in January so it was really close to the time it happened . We live in South Carolina and there is alot of history down here especially about the civil war. well her brother and (at the time ) his fiance went down to charleston and for christmas vacation. they were walking down the street just to go for a walk and this guy was walking down the street they were on but there was something strange about this guy .......he was dressed in a confederate uniform and they hadn't heard him walking down the street at all and he had boots on. When they looked up he said "Merry Christmas" and kept on wlalking and they turned around like 5 seconds later and he wasn't there so they asked the ppl across from them if they had seen where the guy had gone and described him and the peple had never seen anyone who looked like that so was it really just their imaginations or was it a soldier from the past coming back for one more christmas????????
