I am very interested in the Civil War, and ever since I was 12 I've been reading about it. I love the photography from that era, as it was one of the first wars to ever be photographed, and cameras were just coming out. I also like the medical aspects of the Civil War. If you ever want to discuss it, you can message me! |

ummm i know a few things about the war between the states (no such thing as a civil war! lol) my husband and i are civil war reenactors! Ask me anything and i'll tell ya what i know... One piece of useless Civil War Trivia is this... they law stated back then, in order to be in the war you had to be over 18... SO, the kids got in (legally i might add!) by putting a piece of paper in their shoes that read 18, and legally, they were over 18! (standing over 18 of course!) But they had to abide by it! |

another piece of info... there was one major guidline of joining the infantry during the civil war... you had to have 2 teeth (one on top and one on bottom) that matched up! LOL that way they could use their teeth to tear the cartridge open and load your gun! Most men used a 3 band enfeild musketloader, but sharp shooters or the men on the front lines used 2 banded ones |

Just a suggestion, rent the documentary by Ken Burns, the tilte is the same and you may find it worthwhile. And it's a long docuementary, 8 episodes if I remember right. |
