the talking Nutcracker

I was having a sleepover with five of my friends. I had gotten a Ouija board for Christmas that year and everyone was itching to try it. I was skeptical at first but finally agreed. We sat in a circle on my family room floor. I never was actually comfortable in that room. So we all took turns asking questions. Someone asked for the spirit to give us a sign it was in the house. By then some of us had bored ourselves and just sat watching. Everyone sat in silence for a moment, frightened of what may happen next. All of the sudden the lights shut off and the whole basement was pitch black.

We all screamed in horror. I could feel a presence. My dad came downstairs and said a fuse blew and that was all. None of us believed that was the cause of the incident. Some of us were almost to the point of tears. More than half of us quit and sat in the other room. The others asked for another sign. The spirit said to watch my mom's Nutcracker statue that she got in Germany. We all did. Suddenly the rest of us heard a scream. The others said that the Nutcracker's mouth had opened and shut all by itself. One or two of them were crying now. We all went upstairs and tried to fall asleep. Nothing strange has happened to any of us since then. But none of us talk about it with other people. Ever. My friends still insist, though, that the Nutcracker did move. I think I finally believe them after reading some of the other stories on this site.
