Date: 4/29/2002 3:40:00 PM From Authorid: 3125 At the time Christ was speaking, the Gentiles had not been brought into the fold. He was speaking to the Jews at the time. The Gentiles wasn't brought into the fold until Peter was sent to them in Acts..Christ had to die before the New Covenant could take effect(Heb 9:15-17)and the Gentiles would be included. |

Date: 5/1/2002 12:34:00 AM From Authorid: 37900 1) If Jesus' words in Matthew 15 mean what you have suggested, why did Jesus heal the daughter of a Gentile woman four verses later? Furthermore, this woman is one of only two people in the Bible spoken of as having great faith; both were so labeled by Jesus, and both were Gentiles (Matthew 8:1-10). 2) Your definition of "the house of Israel" implies a biological relationship. This idea does not seem to be supported by the New Testament. (Romans 28,29; Galatians 38; 6:15). 3) IMO, the account of the Book of Mormon is suspect, because its premise, that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus at age fourteen, contradicts Paul's testimony in 1 Corinthians 15 that he (Paul) was the last one to see Jesus. Good post. |

John 10:16 Joh 10:16 Verse 16. Other sheep I have] The Gentiles and Samaritans. As if our Lord had said, Do not imagine that I shall lay down my life for the Jews, exclusively of all other people; no: I shall die also for the Gentiles; for by the grace, the merciful design and loving purpose of God, I am to taste death for every man, Heb 2; and, though they are not of this fold now, those among them that believe shall be united with the believing Jews, and made one fold under one shepherd, Eph 2:13-17. the Lord was now standing in what was termed the inner court, or court of the people, in the temple, see Joh 103; and that he referred to the outer court, or court of the Gentiles, because the Gentiles who were proselytes of the gate were permitted to worship in that place; but only those who were circumcised were permitted to come into the inner court, over the entrance of which were written, in large characters of gold, these words, Let no uncircumcised person enter here! Our Lord therefore might at this time have pointed out to the worshippers in that court, when he spoke these words, and the people would at once perceive that he meant the Gentiles.
