Personally, I think being dumped is worse, because you're probably not expecting it. If it's you who is breaking things off, you at least have thought about it beforehand. On the other hand, if I'm the dumper, sometimes I've felt guilty about hurting the other person. I dunno, that's a hard question. It really depends on the situation. But if I had to choose, I'd say getting dumped is worse. LOL, I think I just confused myself! ~Rock On~Pigtails~  |

I think it would hurt more to break up with somebody....because I hate admitting things aren't working and I hate hurting other people. I'm not sure how I'd deal with it...just depends on the circumstances   |

When my first love broke up with me, I was devasted. I will always remember how badly it hurt me, so I vowed that I would never break up with a person. I would rather stay and be unhappy than to hurt somebody like that. I believe thats love.  |

Well in my current situation, both would be extremely hurtful but I think my boyfriend breaking up with me would hurt more. If I was breaking up with him it would mean I had thought it through and had valid reason enough to break up with him, enough so that I'd know I'd be better off without him. On the otherhand, if my boyfriend broke up with me.... wow it hurts to even think about it! I wouldn't be expecting... I wouldn't have gotten to think it over beforehand and get used to the idea and the shock of it would be unbearable I think. I'd just feel so rejected and that's never a good feeling.   |

well i can relate to this because i just broke up with my fiancee and i mean i felt ok at first but now i am feeling the after-effects of it i mean i guess it hurts both ways i would feel the same if he broke up with me welllll ummmmmm no i would be thinking why did he do this to me so i guess if he broke up with me it would hurt more  |
