I think most of yall heard on the news that just recently Abercrombie and Fitch released these new shirts that has offended many of the Asian Community. To my knowledge there are three I think shirts that are making plenty amount of Asians mad. One says "Buddha Bash Get your Buddha on the floor" the second one has a guy running with one of those..I don't know what you call it...it's what I would say a way of transportation..that's rarely used anymore..I guess.but if you want to see it it's on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=861122398 to make it more easier to describe but it says "Rich Shaw's Hoagies and Grinders" and the person has a speech bubble that says "Order by the foot! Good meat quick feet!" and the third one shows Chinese laundry workers saying "Wong Brothers Laundry service: Two Wongs make it White" There's already been protests and I beleive they have been taken off the shelves..but now they're being sold on Ebay which I just went to and the highest bid was ten thousand bucks. Now..if you are or if you were Asian..would you be insulted by this? Abercrombie says that they would think that Asians would think this was funny and that they would enjoy it..but then again..most of Abercrombie shirts are perverted in it's own way and some are funny..but I don't blame anyone who could be offended by these shirts or any other kinda shirts from them for that matter...

Date: 4/20/2002 12:10:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 8374    i've always hated it..now i hate it more :P
Date: 4/20/2002 12:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 43991    Well Im not Asian.. so im not offened, and to tell you the truth if I was, it still wouldnt bother me!! *hugs*
Date: 4/20/2002 12:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 24732    I think people who wear that kind of brand name clothing are stupid, but I don't think I would be offended by it. But I don't think I would be offended if a Black Panther wore a shirt that says "down with whitey" either. I don't see why any one would get offened or upset by t-shirts at all. They are a form of symbolic freedom of speech granted to us by the constitution. I mean if they are dumb enought to wear clothing like that why should any one pay more attention to them and make it a big deal? It's not against the law and it's just clothing.
Date: 4/20/2002 12:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 8817    i hate that place and they r stupid for making fun of an entire culture like that.... i wanna smack mr abercrombie and then smack mr fitch..
Date: 4/20/2002 12:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 46515    I think they do sound offensive. I'm not asian, but I can understand why some would consider it bad taste.
Date: 4/20/2002 12:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 13283    I will boycott that store from now on ! ( besides , the clothes dont fit me, im too big ) Down with A and F !!! Raz aka
Date: 4/20/2002 1:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 47618    HEY!!! I like some of their clothes but I agree that some of the stuff is just offensive and frankly should be pulled. Some of the shirts and stuff they carry are just awful.
Date: 4/20/2002 1:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 15157    That is terrible! Oh I wish I didn`t know this now...
Date: 4/20/2002 3:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    It wouldn't bother me a bit if I were Asian. In fact, I think those are pretty funny. I live in East Tennessee and I laugh at redneck jokes all the time. My Bride likes to jokingly call me a 'dirty old German." That doesn't bother me either. I think some people are just way too sensitive. Look at Chris Rock. He makes jokes at the expense of his own race a lot but everyone likes him. I think everybody just needs to lighten up a bit. Bear in mind that it's only my humble opinion.
Date: 4/20/2002 3:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 48993    i am not asian , and i am offended! but then again i am offended at the whole thing and not just the shirts !~~~~daniedarlin
Date: 4/20/2002 3:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    Lmao! Umm....I'm not really sure what to say about this one..
Date: 4/20/2002 3:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 27121    Ok, I am Asian and I am offended by this. These t-shirts are not funny in the least bit.
Date: 4/21/2002 10:06:00 AM  From Authorid: 6528    I think some of that recent stuff goes a little out of line, but what I am more offended by is the generalization some responses to this post make about people that buy Abercrombie. I am NOT stupid, I happen to be in the top ten ranked in my class, a singer, dancer and actress. I think for the most part I'm a good person. People complain about being discriminated if they wear all black or something, well automatically thinking I'm some airhead just cuz I decide to wear abercrombie annoys ME. Grrr. Good post.
Date: 4/21/2002 11:19:00 AM  From Authorid: 24732    Hey, maybe you may be book smart. But you seem to lack common sense. Think about it, you are paying a lot of extra $ just to wear brand name clothing with a label on it. It doesn't take someone smart to figure that out.
Date: 4/21/2002 12:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 47618    Hey no one makes judgements about how you use your money. You shouldn't pass on judgement upon people like that. If they want to spend their money on Abercrombie so be it, they earned their money not you.
Date: 4/21/2002 1:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 30477    Nah, I think they're funny. It takes a lot more than a t-shirt to offend me. If someone wants to make a mockup of "white" traditions, be my guest, I'll probably think that's hilarious too. Even if I don't, I'm not gonna cry about it. PC America is way too over-sensitive, if you ask me.
Date: 4/21/2002 1:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 30477    You know... now that I think of it, there really aren't any stand-out "white" traditions to be made fun of. Oh well, maybe there could be like, taffy pull or river dance shirts.
Date: 4/23/2002 2:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 24732    I don't care if people make judgements on how I spend my money. I just find it very ironic a person of such merits would be so foolish to buy brand name clothing like Abercrombie and Fitch. Their hard earned $? I think mommy and daddy are footing the bill. I guess a few adults and kids with jobs buy their own clothing, but only a small handfull. And why shouldn't I be able to judge other people, I live in a country with freedom of speech. I don't need anyone telling me I can't say something I disagree with.
Date: 4/25/2002 2:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 51911    i never like them, and never will. so i dont care what they do honestly...
