Ok, this happened back when I was a senior in high school and my best friend called me up one night asking me if I would do her a HUGE favor. Being the good friend I am, I said sure. She was going out on a blind date with this guy that she didn't know very well and wanted to know if me and this guy friend of ours named Jeremy would "double date" with her. Well, Jer and I were always "pretend" dating for some function or other (when we didn't have boy/girl friends) so we said sure. She even offered to pay for our meal at Red Lobster so we figured, Hey Free Food!!!! Well, she comes over to my house and we get ready together. About 15 minutes before Jer got there, she realized that she had not turned the dryer on and that her clothes were still wet...so we drag out the hair dryer and do one of those quick pick me up jobs...but of course we were late getting to the resteraunt. Her date was standing there waiting on us for over 30 minutes!!! The poor guy was about to leave. Well Jer and I figured she would just tell him she was running late, apologize, and that would be the end of that...but NO. She goes and tells her date the reason we were late was that Jer had just proposed marriage to me and he had asked my father and everything so now me and Jer are ENGAGED! She even slipped me one of her rings to wear! Well me and Jer shrugged and acted like a happy go lucky young couple all in love and got ready for the free food! Well, everything is going all right until before dessert, when me and Lori go to the bathroom and Jer goes to use the payphone. While we were gone her date tells the waitress that we had just got engaged. When we do come back and get settled down in our chairs we hear all this clapping and singing like they do when it's someone's birthday so we start looking around. Imagine our surprise when they stopped at OUR table with a HUGE daquairi (minus the alcohol) with two straws and set it down in front of us. That's not even the worse part...they also put these HUGE GIGANTIC lobster hats on us and then pulled us up to announce to the WHOLE resteraunt about our engagement(while the whole time, still clapping and singing at the top of thier lungs) Well, just so happens that my next door neighbor was there in the back and she saw the whole thing so the next day she comes over to the house to congratulate me and my family. Imagine the surprise on my father's face when he found that one out. To this day now, my dad still calls Jer his son-in-law (even though I'm married now). Well hope you all enjoyed my little story!!!
