Well I am in 10th grade, I personally chose to take easier classes my freshman year because I was stressed out enough LOL. DO whatever you feel you will be most comfortable in |

i'd say take the easier ones, then you can always switch to the harder ones if you need to. high school can be pretty stressful and friends can help you get through tough times. if i were you, i'd take classes with my friends. |

Well I am in 10th grade and I just try to get the required classes out of the way my first year. There is always going to be at least on class required every year. If you are a more challenged person then I say why not. Go for what you believe. Good luck with highschool. It goes by so fast. enjoy every minute. Miss Molly |

well, if you mean Academic and Applied courses, it`s not that one is harder than the other. it`s just that the "harder" ones are a different type of learning. i took all Academic (what ppl think r the harder ones), and my friends who took Applied say it isn`t much different. CinnamonRain |

I'm smart enough to be in advanced classes, well I am in an AP class right now. But I had been in advanced classes and all I got was more homework. I always thought you would learn more, but all it was for me was more work. I learn more here than I ever did at school. Infact I'm a terrible speller, bad now, but you should have seen me before I came here. I actually started looking up how to spell words so I wouldn't look stupid when posting stories here. Don't base your decision on me, I'm sort of a slacker. Your school probably has better teachers also. |

AH one word of advice! If you are really not good in a subject... such as Math and you really don't get that subject then do not take the advanced class in that subject I am takeing all advanced subjects and I am struggling with them from time to time... but! I am not takeing an advanced class in math. Remember to enjoy high school |

Whenever I chose the easier classes I always end up bored to tears. I have to have something that can keep my attention and something that I can actually learn from. I think you made the right decision as long as you don't take on more than you can handle. |

Easier classes you probably get less homework and not that much "hard" work. Harder classes you'll get loads of homework. Its easier for easy classes and less stressful. Study Halls rule, wish they gave credits for them. |

Naw. Don't play stupid just to be w/ your friends. You'll meet new ppl and besides, you probably won't still be friends with the friends you have now in 10 years. Wouldn't you rather spend the energy towards your education--- that will stay with you! |

Actually, if you're not planning on getting into an Ivy League school don't bother with the advanced. You WILL be much more stressed than your friends...unless of course you are that much more intelligent than them that a general level course would bore you. It's your choice. Actually, you're being smart by taking the advanced classes right away. If you find that you can't handle them then you have one semester's worth of classes to make up and a lot of time to do it in. I believe you can also change levels before a certain deadline after classes begin. Check it out anyway, it won't do any harm. You might not be able to drop down a level in some courses, though, due to class sizes. But you can pick credits up later. Anyhoo, have fun and enjoy high school. And always remember that it's only temporary and that there are so many more good times waitin' for ya after high school is over with. Take care and good luck...Gallytuck. |

well i really think you should take the harder ones if you can handle it. i am justlike you when it comes to classes like that..and you will probably much more happier with a challenge, then being bored out of your mind. |

Well if you've always done well at school I think the advanced courses are a good thing to take. I always regretted not taking the advanced courses before my junior year. They really do help a lot with preparing you for college and you get an overall better education out of it. I think you should go for it. |

I would do the harder ones first, and get them out of the way. That way when you are dealing with applying for colleges you won't have to stress about your classes too. Not to mention senior year fun!!! |

No, no, no, no.... Challenge yourself now and you'll be better for it later... I guarantee it. The difference is the amount of confidence and knowledge you will have going into college... the more the better. |
