Date: 4/17/2002 11:26:00 PM From Authorid: 37872 I'm not sure what to say. I mean I have answers to all those questions, as I'm sure you do to, but they are my answers. I guess we can just boil it down to that there is good and bad in everything, it just depends on our perspective. Islam is a fine religion and will continue to grow, and as such will continue to be criticized by those that don't agree with the cultural inheritance that it brings with it. |

Date: 4/17/2002 11:35:00 PM From Authorid: 28848 Blah, those are some very good points. Honestly, I think that a large majority of Americans have become prejudice to the muslim community because of the actions that have taken place since last September. I know that not all muslim people are to be blamed for those actions and most had nothing to do with it. But Americans can be very proud especially when it comes to war, religion, and the Rights of Freedom. I guess a lot of people see the muslim community as a whole and right now they see them as the enemy. It may not be right for people to think that way, but I think that it will probably be that way for a very long time because of the war. Best Wishes. |
Date: 4/17/2002 11:38:00 PM From Authorid: 47699 The answer is simple. It's about having the choice to do as you wish and not being forced to endure the will of others. There is a huge difference between oppression and freedom. |
Date: 4/17/2002 11:49:00 PM From Authorid: 20956 i think the difference often is that while 'westerners' and 'catholics' and whoeva you compared the islamic people to do this by choice, quite often the islamic people are 'forced' into doing this. maybe not so much forced but perhaps expected to. However i am no big expert on either religion so i dont know for sure, just what i think anyhoo .... |
Date: 4/18/2002 12:15:00 AM From Authorid: 35629 Hmmm I think it is the all terrorist we are after and the ones that force others to practice these laws whom otherwise would not want to.Not the actual people that practice thier faith that is thier choice of course. |
Date: 4/18/2002 6:39:00 AM From Authorid: 48993 i agree with frank! ........stereotypes are on everyone of every nation, every race ,every culture , the are unfortunate but a reality , i personally try my hardest not to use them , and i would say that 80% of the time i dont , but noone is perfect! i try my best to see people for who they really are inside!~~~~~~daniedarlin |
