I once remember a story about that,the daughter of my friend treatened to call social services and say that my friend was beating her if she din't take her to the park,well my friend was so angry by that, that she said:''If you call social services,better call the funerary because I will kill you'',the girl was so scared that she din't ever treaten her mother with calling social services again,it doesn't answer your question but it's funny.

i know here in the part of ontario i live in if you spank your kid the child services steps in and says your an abusive parent, but often they leave the kid who gets the crap kicked out of him with their parents. Sunshine Diva |

I'd tell my kid that all of their toys came from my last kid that did that. If he asked what happened to the other kid I'd just say that it's too horrible to say to one so young.  |

The world is taking away our rights (and responsibility)of disciplining our kids, and then have the nerve, gall and audacity to moan and complain about what retched kids there are out there. There is a BIG HUGE difference between spanking little Johnny because he himself did something to merit that spanking, and just beating the tar out of him for no reason. My mom had my neice for a while and when ever she didn't get her own way, she'd try that crap.Mom always told her to make it worth her while, because she would and it was going to take them a while to get there, and by the time thy did, there WOULD be abuse to report. I always had to laugh at the one. It might not be a bad thing to let her call. They'll come out, see no abuse and make a note of the fact that the child is making false reports. She (the adult)does have people who can back her up, like the child's doctor and even school, if the kid is school age. If they don't have any reason to suspect abuse, CAS won't have anything to go on. I had no idea spanking was "illeagal" anywhere. If there is no mark, how does CAS PROVE abuse? It's the word of a child who didn't get her own way against a parent who was looking out for her child. Keep us posted on what happens. ~Roaryblue  |

Matter of fact I would dial the phone for him, assuming he would be a teen if he ever did this. Tell your friend he's testing her to see what she would do. I would dial the number and ask him "What's the matter? Cat got your tongue now?" I guarantee the kid will back off. |

I would pick up the phone and hand it to her. This happened to a guy I worked with. His daughter sneaked out and was gone all night. He hit her with his belt on her rear-end (he was an older man when he told me this, so it had to have happened a good 20 years ago). She said she was going to call social services. He handed her the phone and dialed the number for her. When they arrived he'd made her pack her suitcases and had his daughter waiting. he told social services to take her. They kept her for a week. She certainly learned her lesson.  |
