I've seen enough poor souls lying in gutters to think that that could possibly have any validity. |

A proper researcher will tell you that when you are researching your hypothesis you should try to prove it wrong not try to prove it right like what your professor is doing. Figures and statistics can lie. Ask your prof who did he talk to, what were his questions, is there any type of person not interveiwed and most importantly where were his questions asked. |

KurtV, it was something I heard casually on the radio in a news report. I will have to try and find what his arguments for the study are sometime... |

I guess when you're rich you can buy more booze than a poor person? One alcoholic we know said he didn't like his job anymore. So his wife told him to quit, then he quit and never got a job again. Now she works and he stays home and work on cars (not for $) But we never go over there anymore, because he was so drunk he was rolling around on the floor and passing out. I can't believe he isn't dead yet? He drinks so much more than anyone else, he's been drinking for years. So far he hasn't had any problems with is liver or anything else? Doesn't make sense? |

My dad made good money (over $60,00/year, he died 8 years ago) and was a functioning alcoholic for over 30 years before it caught up with him. My brother makes over $75,000/year and drinks like a fish... I'd say two points for this argument... and neither had/have anything to do with schmoozing clients, they were/are Journeyman Electricians... construction creates some highly paid people as well |

Also think of it this way. More money, more problems. More problems, more stress. More stress, more glug glug glug, catch my drift. |

Alcoholism knows no socio/economic barries. Any one can be an alcoholic, rich or poor, fat or thin, black, white or green for that matter. I also remember hearing that science found that alcoholism is hereditary and can be passed in the genetic code, so that would kinda shoot that theory down.~Roaryblue |

I don't believe it. That would be like survey rich people and asking if they were levi jeans and then saying that since most did, that wearing levi's brings about wealth!!!LOL |
