I see someone else has had a bad experience with poetry.com...I have about 18 poems on their site that all say they are coming out in one of their books...They only make it to the book if you buy it...Congrats no matter what, you tried and you succeeded...I am sure your poem deserved it! |

That's great. Any poem is a great poem and it's any way the author wants it to be. There is no such thing as a bad one in my opinion. Now for years I've been trying to win the prize money from International Library of Poetry and such, but haven't ever won. The books they say my poems are going into are expensive, and I only bought one, many years ago. They say and I'm signing release forms for them even to go onto audio tape, but I've never won a dime from it. I think my best bet would be to write 500 poems and then see a publisher with them or a literary agent. I'm a published poet as a result of these contests, but I want it to make me something instead of cost me something. I'm tired of mailing in release forms and never winning, eventhough I'm told every time how wonderful my things are. I'm tired of being topped out all the time for that prize money... |
