Solos And Duets *Musical_buttrerfly*

Hi Everyone! How have you all been doing? Well, This isn't exactly a Usm event it's an event done by a Usm'er. Here it is:

I am singing a solo (Simple Gifts-Shaker Tune) and a duet (The River Sleeps Beneath the Sky). It is tomorrow (Tuesday April, 16 2002). I feel very un-prepared.

Thanks For Your Replies Everyone. The Recital was Last Night. And As me being a dedicated USM'er and valued reporter I must say the concert went well all except for 3 Songs. All Mine. I did my solo second. It was Called Simple Gifts. It is a medium High song which for me is very high since I am an alto. I didn't hit any of the high notes or Low notes and I was all over the place. It was very shakey and unsupported. About 4 measures into the song I thought I was going to faint. My Vision started to blurr, I was light headed, I felt like I was swaying, and my legs started to feel like jello and started to buckle. Luckily the song ended. I was shaking and I was starting to cumpulse. That was a complete disaster.

The second song that wasn't very well was a duet. I duet with my friend and I. It was called The River Sleeps Beneath the sky. It also went unsupported and skakey. I had my alto part 75% of the time but in the ending I again was starting to cumpulse. I was very nervous in front of my peers and their parents. It wasn't as bad as my solo but I was still nervous. I also got the same "Symptions" as in my solo.

The Third Song that was also not sung well was the song the Select Choir sung. It was The Turtle Dove. I got the same "sypmtions' again and we had to repeat it again. It was unsupported and shakey. We were also unprepared.

I was very upset over this and I started to cry as soon as I quit singing and sat back down. It was really pathetic and People were telling be all these things that are supposed to make me feel better and make me stop crying but I told everyone that if they can't say something to make me feel better (Nothing) then don't say anything and since you can't do that shut-up and agree with me. They were telling me things like its ok and stop that you look like a baby. So I don't need your pitty just "shut-up and Agree"

I Bet we will all do better next time.
