A part of me........... Nameless

A part of me is gone,
and it was my favorite part.
Something in me has changed,
and that something was my heart.

The girl I love is gone,
and she's never coming back.
Without her my world is cold,
unforgiving, bleak, and black.

I wish I could have told her
before she went away,
how much I had loved her,
and how I'd wish she would stay.

I know I can't change past.
I can only look ahead.
But I dream about what might have been
if she had stayed instead.
