I Feel Weird ~MJD~

I'm on an antidepressant called REMERON. The doctor told me that it would help me sleep, which it did. I took my first pill last night and all day today I've just been really mellow, unlike my usual crazy freak self. Like, usually I'm loud and stuff but I was just THERE I guess you could say. I didn't talk very much at all. All day I just kept thinking, "Meag, you are just way too emotional when you are not on this pill." I feel normal now and not depressed or anything. But my friend Steph says she doesn't like me this way because I am so quiet. All I've ever wanted is to be happy and I think I'm getting there. I feel like nothing can hurt me anymore.

Date: 4/11/2002 1:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 48993    talk to your doctor about the side effects this is causing you and maybe see if there is something of a lesser milligram that you could take....deffinatly talk to your doc!!!(hugs)~~~daniedarlin
Date: 4/11/2002 1:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 46527    I think you will reach a balance when you are used to the pills, the change may seem dramatic at first but you will soon be more like yourself, if not then see the doc and think about a change of medication
Date: 4/11/2002 1:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 47734    OMG.. I took that for like 2 months..and when I was taking it .. I had the most CRAZY dreams.. I had really bad nightmares and just absurd dreams.. It was the weirdest thing.. I had to stop taking it.. b/c i would wake up at 4 in the morning in a cold sweat.. I think sleep disorders is one of the side effects.
Date: 4/11/2002 1:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 21867    I'm surprised you are feeling the effects of the Mirtazapine (Remeron) after only taking it for less that two full days. Mirtazapine predominately requires a period of at least 2 full weeks before the actual chemicals reach base therapeutic levels. Maybe what you are experienced is a 'placebo' effect...whereby the effect is more psychological that physiological. Make sure to record how you are feeling...anything different you notice, in your moods, in how you react to things, light, sound, changes in eating/sleeping patterns etc over the next two weeks...this all makes for good information for your Doctor...also, watch for any signs of infections, inflamation of the mouth or sore throats...as these are some side-effects of Mirtazapine. Hope things work out for you. Peace,
Date: 4/11/2002 9:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 39887    Its a drug, get off of it. Never become dependent on medicine for any reason, thats my motto. Life has it valley's and hills and you must learn to cope with both! I know its hard when you don't sleep enough but I just wouldn't take that pill.
