If you are looking for a good small dog, tell you parents to get an English Corgy. (the Queen has a pair of them) they are great dogs and they are not rowdy and are not known for digging things up and such. -dEiDrE* |

well it depends on how much time you have to be w/ ur pet........a cat very low maintence , feed them pet them give 'em water change the litter box u have a happy pet, ( i have had a cat now for 11 years and he's 1 of my best friends he can read me and he knows when to come sit on my lap and when to leave me alone) a dog (ive had the best dog now for 2 1/2 yrs) but she digs we cant stop her and she does have help from our son LOL..but she a great protector and my son's best friend! , fish are great if u wanna relax ..i'd luv to get some fish myself but i dont trust my son enough yet LOL ...a parrot can live to be 70+ years old so its alot of commitment, lizards snakes and reptiles all carry the salomanella( sp?) disease so i wouldnt want that in my house , not that i dont like them just yuck, so really it depends on u and what kind of effort u feel u r able to put into a pet????~~~~~daniedarlin |

Poodles are nice. They don't chew furniture and they don't shed. Parakeets are nice too. They can live to be 10, are easy to maintain and don't cost much. Plus, you can teach them to talk! |

I didn't mean for my post to bring up negative memories... Commitment is the major part of keeping a pet. LOL, Daniedarlin, your son and dog were made for each other. Anybody can tell they get along well by the digging. I didn't know a parrot can live 70 plus years! Wow! Um, maybe I'll go for a plant. Now taking care of a plant is very low maintanence (sp?), lol. But there was this one time when I let my plant down. :\ |

Get anything that doesn’t eat a lot. I have reptiles and I hate feeding them. I have to cut their food up and all that. Get a dog; train it to bark when it wants to go outside. I think dogs are great...except the means one...they are another story. Notice how a lot of little dogs are pretty mean when you get to know them. My little dog is scared of all other dogs she doesn’t know or that is bigger then her but I have a dog that is bigger then her and she knows him well so she literally attacks him. When I let them inside the house she races up the stairs before the big dog and she waits for the big dog to come up and attack. When we hear a loud commotion of growls and snarls you see my little dog walk away with a big chunk of the big dogs hair in her mouth. My big dog it also old and he can’t bite to save his life. ::CONCLUSION:: Buy something that doesn’t eat a lot |

Poodles... Those dogs can really make me look tough, lol. Parakeets? Are those the kind of birds that have funny feathers on their heads? I see Miss C agrees with me on the bird thing... |

lol, BoomBoom. Little dogs are mean. There was this one time when I was young (9 years ago, lol) that I was attacked by my relative's small dog... That dog took a piece of my skin off my knee! Darn him... That lil rascal hated me for some reason. |

I have 2 dogs and they are great for doing tricks and they are loads of fun especially big dogs. Anoles which are a lizard are fun they are fast and they don't just sit under a heat lamp all day.All the pets you mentioned I had expeirence with and they are all great except the bird (I don't know anything about.) -Hansongirl |

Some reptiles are fast but I'm afraid they might run/slither away once I get them out of its cage... |

Many little dogs are also very territorial, if they feel you are in their space they will attack. I mess with my little dog all the time. Reptiles are fast and such but if you hold then and train them they won’t run away. I have an iguana; we got him young but never really handled him. When he got bigger when he got loose he got loose. One time he went in my closet and I opened my closest and I see him in there clinging to my shirt. I was like "what the heck is going on". I went to get him and I saw his talk get back ready to whack me so I let him chill there. But now since I feed him and such he is much more tamed then my other reptile, which is a bearded dragon. I can leave the cage door open in my iguana cage and he wont even move. I can leave it open and go to sleep and he will still be in the same spot when I get up. ::CONCLUSION:: Get something that doesn’t eat a lot |

I have several suggestion for a pet. They are pretty weird to keep as pets though....but hey, a pet's a pet. You might try a hedgehog, they seem to be pretty small. I have been trying to find a hedgehog, but so far, no luck. You might try getting a warm-water penguin, lol....watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, you'll understand why it's so funny. It's my favorite anime series so far. You may also try raising a baby turtle. |
