Who Needs Friends? **Frankenstein

I'm nearly forty now and it's always seemed the same. Guys like me never get adjusted and act like everyone else according to all that I've read. No big loss to me! Big freaking deal! I've heard it said over and over throughout the years that there is a big difference between friends and mere aquaintences. I never saw it, though. I don't guess I ever let anyone get close enough to me to learn any differently. I've always been a loner. I didn't even feel close to my parents and I still remember vividly how they died in the fire that night so many years ago. I stood there and watched it after all. There's your Kodak moment!

Joey Lawson seemed like a good natured kid and he lived just down the street when we were young. He always seemed to like me and want to be my friend for some reason. Everyone suspected that he was a bit retarded in some way and most people treated him kindly and helped him in any way they could any chance they got. Me? Now, you know better than that! I can't believe how much he squirmed and how long it took him to finally stop breathing. That really ticked me off! He sure had a lot of nerve!

That reminds me of a girl I picked up in a bar once. Although she denied it at first, I knew what she was. I was sure that she would end up demanding money from me before the night was over and I was right. The lame excuse she offered just didn't fly with me. I guess I surprised her! Money won't do you a bit of good where you're going now, honey! I just wanted a little company, not a second mortgage!

It's always been that way with me and I've seen many come and go. Like I said, I've always been sort of a loner. I read something interesting in the paper this morning. That story's been in there for weeks now and I've been following it closely. It's strange for something like to happen in such a small town. They actually have a photo of him? You've got to be kidding me! What an idiot! There have been a lot of mysterious murders and missing persons in this town lately and there was a photo of the authoritie's chief suspect. I'm serious! I mean there was actually a photo of him right there in morning paper! I laughed so hard at that! I had never seen him before but I recognized him when he rang my doorbell and I looked out the peephole in the door to see who it was. I think it's really clever the way I so carefully worded that classified ad and lured him in! Sure! I'm a sixteen year old girl! Yeah, right! Rank amateur! Who does he think he is? Man! That really ticks me off! You don't mess with THE MAN! I have my chef's knife right here and I'm going to answer the door. This should be really interesting!
