*throws psychology book in the air, ducks as it falls to the ground*

Ok guys here's the deal *gets on her pedistel* I....*clears throat* am a college student oh you already knew that! silly me. LOL

Funnies aside....well I'm sure ya'll know since december everything has gone down hill unbelievably! *eyes go buggie* I'll do a quick refresheer: I was in a car accident in december totalled my car *Cries* I loved that thing...I transfered colleges in january but came running home when I heard my grandmother's days were limited....Took a few days off school here to see her...March she passed away :( So I missed more time there so I could go down to texas and help with things there and be with family. to top it all off I REALLY don't like my college...*good basketball team but nothing more* Anyway I decided I'm bailing on the journalism major...thought what I would do is change my major to photography because I've decided I truely would enjoy it more. I won't view it as work that's how much I enjoy it...and I'm darn good at it as well! then just....double minor in journalism and business or just minior in business...*grins*

The thing is with all that's gone on I'm SO stressed....You have no idea....when i get up in the mornings when I have classes *tuesday/thursday* I wanna bawl...I just don't want to be there. I had the ambitions of graduating in three and a half years for crying out loud :(...I've gotten to the point 'why am I taking these classes, they hold no purpose in what I'm going to/want to be doing...' OCEANOGRAPHY! It's COLORADO last time I checked it's a landlocked state WHERE am I gonna use it? lol ok that was a last semester class point is still the same though.

anyway so I've decided I'm taking a math class over the summer so it's atleast done and out of the way...as much as I hate math, the skills you never know *Signed up for statistics* may just very well come in handy somewhere at some point. Besides I plan on taking fall off....and I worry I might not go back...so the math is really....a good thing to have LOL I always use to think that you needed that degree....I have alot of family that will debate me to the ground on that issue and I'm beginning to see it their way to some extent....just depends on what you plan to do and everything.

But my question is HOW do I keep my sanity until 7-23-02? even the thought of homework brings me to tears....

Becky

What fun!! I love it!! you can combine the best of both worlds! Stay in school! If you take a term off be well aware of the chances of you never going back! I'm taking the summer off & I am going to Africa!! this would not have happened if not for school & it's bennifits!(sp) Think about it before you do it! It's for life!
Date: 4/6/2002 10:09:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16845    LOL I know mg. I worry abotu my emotional stability if I don't take time off though...
Date: 4/6/2002 10:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 11348    I can totally relate to how you're feeling! I'm not in college but this year has been very hard on me too. I'm in a new school, new state, all my friends are in my old state. I'm a senior in high school and I have senioritis like you wouldn't even believe! I can't stand the thought of getting up each day and going to school not to mention homework and work and everything else. Then on top of all that I'm having to decide what to do next! I told my mom I want to move out of state and live on my own and skip college for a while... just work and chill... and she totally freaked out. Everyone expects me and wants me to go to college and make the most out of my education and that's hard to deal with when right now I'm thinking of other things. I need out of this town sooo bad though. It's suffocating me I think and I can hardly stand each week and the time just CRAWLS by. Anyway, I feel your pain! And all I can say is that in time you won't have to deal with all of this! Just set your sights on the future and make sure you don't lose touch with the things that you really enjoy because things like that really help to take away from the stressful things in life. Take it one minute and one day at a time. That's what I do... hope things get better for you.

Date: 4/6/2002 10:26:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16845    Hey KK. I know what your saying I'm to the point I think colorado bites too LOL and I've lived here all my life atleast you have a reason to think that! lol Good luck with the upcoming graduation don't let senioritis bite ya too hard.
Date: 4/6/2002 10:27:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16845    LMAO @ MG!
Date: 4/6/2002 11:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    Becky I'll tell you what my college advisor told me when I felt as you do..She said to take care of myself first. Take care of you first because what is the point in pushing yourself to do something if you wear yourself into the ground..what good will a degree do if you go nutty..lol. School will always be there, if not that one, there are hundreds to choose from. You are young and recently you have been through so much..I don't think anyone would blame you if you dropped this semester. I hope that you feel better. I remember sitting in class trying not to cry and running to the bathroom to bawl after taking a test that I knew I screwed up. Do what you feel is best for you. Luv,
Date: 4/7/2002 12:05:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16845    aw thanks release....I just do have the normal worries about taking fall semester off and all....*Shrugs* but I feel I gotta....so i dunno...
Date: 4/7/2002 12:30:00 AM  From Authorid: 49742    Release Me sounds like great advice. Angelfollower
Date: 4/7/2002 6:13:00 AM  From Authorid: 19345    Have you tried to really figure out what you want to do I mean no doubts? If you aren't that sure maybe you should stick to just getting the general ed out of the way, you will need it for most degrees anyway and it will give you alittle time to figure things out. For the stress how about a gym I hear it helps with stress, I'm a couch potato so I don't really know for sure.
Date: 4/7/2002 10:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 47218    A.Taking semester off-- not bad idea. You can refocus yourself and be better prepared to tackle the next semester. And it IS better to have a degree. Many places won't even consider you unless you have one-- it broadens your options, PLUS once you have it no one can ever take it away from you. And, as a college student, places will allow you to do internships for them, thus it can be your key into a good job. B. All these classes that seem pointless to you, I assume are your core classes. You can relax when you think that soon you will have most of them out of the way and you can concentrate on your degree classes which I'm sure you find more meaningful.
Date: 8/11/2002 9:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 46486    You'll be okay Becky
Date: 5/13/2005 9:30:00 AM  ( Admin-DNL )   well you have a baby now so I doubt your stress has gone down too much..lol..hugs
