Becky!! I am going for two degrees!! Multi media is one of those degrees! I love it!! Right now I have an assigment to photograph normal objects! What fun!! I love it!! you can combine the best of both worlds! Stay in school! If you take a term off be well aware of the chances of you never going back! I'm taking the summer off & I am going to Africa!! this would not have happened if not for school & it's bennifits!(sp) Think about it before you do it! It's for life! |

I can totally relate to how you're feeling! I'm not in college but this year has been very hard on me too. I'm in a new school, new state, all my friends are in my old state. I'm a senior in high school and I have senioritis like you wouldn't even believe! I can't stand the thought of getting up each day and going to school not to mention homework and work and everything else. Then on top of all that I'm having to decide what to do next! I told my mom I want to move out of state and live on my own and skip college for a while... just work and chill... and she totally freaked out. Everyone expects me and wants me to go to college and make the most out of my education and that's hard to deal with when right now I'm thinking of other things. I need out of this town sooo bad though. It's suffocating me I think and I can hardly stand each week and the time just CRAWLS by. Anyway, I feel your pain! And all I can say is that in time you won't have to deal with all of this! Just set your sights on the future and make sure you don't lose touch with the things that you really enjoy because things like that really help to take away from the stressful things in life. Take it one minute and one day at a time. That's what I do... hope things get better for you. |

Becky I'll tell you what my college advisor told me when I felt as you do..She said to take care of myself first. Take care of you first because what is the point in pushing yourself to do something if you wear yourself into the ground..what good will a degree do if you go nutty..lol. School will always be there, if not that one, there are hundreds to choose from. You are young and recently you have been through so much..I don't think anyone would blame you if you dropped this semester. I hope that you feel better. I remember sitting in class trying not to cry and running to the bathroom to bawl after taking a test that I knew I screwed up. Do what you feel is best for you. Luv, |

Have you tried to really figure out what you want to do I mean no doubts? If you aren't that sure maybe you should stick to just getting the general ed out of the way, you will need it for most degrees anyway and it will give you alittle time to figure things out. For the stress how about a gym I hear it helps with stress, I'm a couch potato so I don't really know for sure. |

A.Taking semester off-- not bad idea. You can refocus yourself and be better prepared to tackle the next semester. And it IS better to have a degree. Many places won't even consider you unless you have one-- it broadens your options, PLUS once you have it no one can ever take it away from you. And, as a college student, places will allow you to do internships for them, thus it can be your key into a good job. B. All these classes that seem pointless to you, I assume are your core classes. You can relax when you think that soon you will have most of them out of the way and you can concentrate on your degree classes which I'm sure you find more meaningful. |
