lol this may seem familiar to those that read my pain induced ramble last Saturday evening....but aye aye aye....it happened again.
The pain disappeared this past Thursday and I was all jolly...then BAM! I wake up at 5:00 am Friday morning with this huge shooting pain going through my left shoulder...now I'm no stranger to pain, I've been in car accidents, had my head busted open, and when I was a kid I found myself covered completely in fire ants on at least 2 different occasions....BUT MAN!!! I have NEVER felt anything like that, and never want to again! I could not move my left arm without it hurting at all, I tried to be a good son and not wake anybody up and just go back to sleep...but that weren't happening...
So I basically wake my folks up, and they take me down to the Emergency Room....I get there, had to fill out all these forms and jive. And they started asking me how bad the pain was and they had this little scale, with all these little points assigned to different parts of you...like you give yourself 2 points if you're sobbing from pain, you give yourself another 2 points if your legs are kicking maniacally in the air....well I was hurting bad, but I wasn't hurting THAT bad.
But of course being a man, I opted NOT to read this so when the lady asked me on their scale how bad my pain was I grunted and said, "Oh gosh a mighty....it's an 8, yeah...well..no maybe a 7 or an 8. Maybe like a 7.5..." I probably should have gone by their scale and not my scale...I forget they're used to seeing things ranging from amputations gone horribly wrong to contortionist accidents and the like. Right then, I could tell they lost respect for me. And they shunned me.
So anyway, I get escorted into a little room with my own private curtain and they give me that little paper thin robe. THANKFULLY, I gots to keep my pants on, because I don't believe I had clean underwear on by that point in time....but I digress.
And since this is a relatively small place....they announced I was the first patient of the day. It was eerily empty, and I got wheeled into this lonely quiet place for X-rays...and being the horror movie fan that I am, all I could think about was Halloween 2 where Michael Myers is running around the nearly empty hospital slicing and dicing. Freaked me out.
So the results are in, and the bones are happy, the heart is good, no food deposits are blocking me up, and the Doc writes me a prescription for muscle relaxers and some 'anti-inflammatory' stuff.
And maaaan did it take FOREVER for that stuff to work, it wasn't until around 6:00 that night until the pain finally subsided...and thankfully, I'm all good for the time being. Just a little tension back there, but not a much
If I stay on the computer for a long time it gets soopa bad too, so I probably won't be on the USM as much this week but hey that's alright, I'm a sporadic USmer anyway.
I'm figuring that's what messed me up in the first place, not USM, but being on the computer so much. For those that know, I finished the first draft of a script a couple a weeks ago after logging in many hours at the computer constantly since September. Guess it was bound for something to give way, and boy did it ever!
One awesome thing about this though was, I got to take lots of hot baths for their soothing power. AND HOT BATHS RULE!!!!!
So go take one right now. *high five*
