I have a friend who does the EXACT same thing. Unfortunately, the only thind that you can really do is catch her on it. The next time she says something that you are SURE is a lie, call it out. Question her about it. She will most likely be so upset that you figured it out, she will be afraid to lie in the future. Of course, it is easy to say that you will confront her, but when the time comes, it is much harder than you would think. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide to do. ~Charisma K.~  |

The only time I've really called her on a lie was that time when she said she only weighed 60 pounds.. she said she was so skinny because she had hyperthyroidism (yeah right!) well..I have hyperthyroidism, so I know all about it and I know they give you medicine for it, and she was saying all this stupid stuff about it that wasn't true..and I think she knew I knew she was lying cause she changed the subject really fast. Hehehe.. |

LOL Babiebec, lol..nope, she hasn't said that yet but she did tell me her mom was trying to kill her with cheese! Long story. Muas, I've thought about that before.. so I asked my aunt about it (she's a psychologist) and she said that people used to think chronic lying was a medical condition, but actually it's not.. she said it usually was just a way some people come up with to cope with low self-esteem. But I don't how anyone could have a self-esteem THAT low! That's just weird..I think it's safe to say she's just a weirdo! |

Hehehe, me and my friend were gonna do that nightmare gal!! Cause she lies to my friend Andrea too and we both get so sick of it..and we were gonna tell her all this dumb stuff like that we went to a big party and I drove home drunk and hit a dancing circus deer and bla bla bla..LMAO Babiebec!! Yeah she's really that weird..I wouldn't be surprised if she did say something like that! "That vicious slice of cheese is out to kill me, and my mom is helping it!!!" Actually the story she told me was that her mom knew she would die if she ate a certain type of cheese and she kept packing it in her lunch! LOL..no one dies from cheese!! LOL. She couldn't even tell me what type of cheese it was! I think if I was deathly allergic to a certain type of cheese I would atleast know what type it was so I wouldn't accidentally eat it... |

OMG! I had to click into your profile to see if we are from the same State because your friend sounds EXACTLY like my little cousin! Wow, I didn't know there were others this bad. The absolutely most ridiculous one that she told me was that her friend went to bed one night 8 1/2 mos. pregnant, and woke up not pregnant. She then went on to say that her body had absorbed the pregnancy! Like that is even possible in a fully developed gestational fetus that had been perfectly normal as well as average in size! Yep, I called her on that as well as all of the others. People like that make me nuts!  |

believe me.i know a girl like that.man does it get annoying.she days she has 5 boyfriends.we all know its not true.i keep giving her that look.the look where you stare at them for a while and roll your eyes in disgrace.i normally just keep saying"really now?" or "right" sarcasticlly.i helps me.you could just put loads of tape on her mouth and say shut-up.i did that once.it was hilarious.other than that you could talk to her about it.people brag somethimes cuz they may not have a good life so bragging and lieing get them self esteam.i really would use the tape though.it will do the job.lol.  |

It sounds like she needs help. There are people out there like that. They have real problems. I can't remember the name for it, but the one that we all know is conpulsive liars. Maybe talk to the counselar and explain what is going on, so they can maybe talk to her parents and get her some real help. But for you, just point out her lies to her and maybe when she sees that you are not going to listen to her lies she'll stop dropping them on you.  |

i have a friend that does this all the time. i think her ex boyfriend brainwashed her or something. she always tells everone that "rob" her ex was on the titanic when he was 3 and he died and was reincarnated. how stupid. she still does it and we just ignore her. and if she keeps on saying it. tell her to quit lying or your not going to be friends with her anymore and see if that works.my friends and i just let it go in one ear and out the other. i hope i have helped you a little. amber22  |
