Yes I put my name in my title....and no I don't think that we shouldn't be allowed to...if people complain about replies they need to 1. write interesting stuff 2. put their name in their title 3. make lots of replies so they are known.....   |

I usually don't put my name on my stories so people who don't like me here will read them not knowing it's me. Then at the end of the post I write (<>..<> But I was thinking about putting my little alien symbol thing on the tittles of my stories because it looks cool.  |

wow i really know what you mean..i mean obviously if ginger or radman didnt put their name after a story they wrote it probley wont get as many replies...i know stories i put my name by gets more repiles then stories i dont..i guess your friends just see your name and are interested in waht you have to say.  |

But I like being able to see what my friends and family have posted here at USM. I was newbie only a couple of short months ago, and my stories didn't get FLOCKED by replies at first either! It just means people gotta be patient and make friends! I have so many friends here now that it is AMAZING! And many of them are Veteran USMERS. So, those who are complaining need to just stop it, and make some friends! You make friends by replying to other peoples posts, and realizing that you are not the center of the universe! I am sorry, it just really ticks me off when people bring up the whole popularity thing. It is the INTERNET for pittys' sake! *PANT PANT*, ok, I'm sorry, just needed to finally get that out in the open...  |

ok becky so what you are saying then is that you look for the stories with the names you know? I mean that is what you basically said in number 2 and 3. And a lot of people that don't add their name do write interesting stuff. We might just be missing it because we are to busy looking for the authors we know. be honest. |

I admit I read stuff friends post if their name is on it...but I read far more of those who don't have names in the title.....I read what catches my eye with the title....if I see something by say ladyluck for example....if the title doesn't appeal I have passed it....*Shrugs* I just think those who complain about the lack of replies know what they can do to increase them, there's no need to change policies... |

I think it would be better if we didn't put our names on our posts. Then we would read only stories of our interests. A lot of good stories get looked over because they don't have a well known person's name on them. The only reason people who are popular would want to put their names on them is because if they write a stupid story they will still get lots of replies. |

I just had this thought and posted it to see what you all thought. and i think if we are all honest....the people that do put their name on their posts that would be considered "popular" do get more looked at then those that don't put their name on it. if the truth hurts, or makes you mad...sorry. but maybe thats something to think about. and NO i am NOT trying to stir up the whole popularity thing. just pointing out a fact. |

I never look for "authors I know". It's the title of the story that catches my eye. I just put my name in the title in case I forget to put it at the end of my stories and the repliers don't know what to call me. And I don't think we shouldn't be allowed to put our usernames in the titles...there's no reason for not allowing it. People who aren't "popular" will be eventually, though I see no reason to worry about it.  |

i couldn't care less. Yes i put my name in my posts just because i feel like it(if i couldn't I don't care). I don't look or not look at a post just because of the name on it. I look at a post because it sounds interesting to me. Its not my fault that some people are biased and will only read posts that are written by specific people. If people whine about thier posts not getting read or replied to, then either change the title to something interesting or make the post something interesting(or both in some cases), very simple.  |

I don't usually put my name up on my stories... I'm not sure why. But I think that is a really really good idea! If everyone would just put their names in their posts rather than at the end, the whole popularity issue wouldn't be half as bad and we'd get the true effect of each story rather than the ones we're familiar with. Good suggestion!

...well, when I walk into a Public Library I tend to look for Authors I have read before and know have written things I have enjoyed previously. How and then I might be a little adventurous and have a look around the shelves to find something that interests me by an Author I haven't heard of before. Imagine is all the books in a library had the Authors names removed...wouldn't happen...so why have it here...  |

I sometimes go to Rdaman and Gingers stories and they didn't sign there names, and some stories have like five comments. Then the ones they do have there names on has 100 and something replies. Nice Post Babei Cue and nice point! XOXO  |
