Speak Now.... or Forever Hold Your Peace..... mercury

Have you ever been to a wedding where anyone ever "SPOKE"?

I've only been to one... and the objection wasn't "spoken"....

I was part of the wedding party and the minister had just spoken the words, "If anyone here knows just cause why these two people should not be wed, let him speak now, or forever hold his peace."

Right on cue... thunder ripped so loudly through the sky that the church actually shook!

The bride's sister and I exchanged a glance and then a giggle. The church was filled with some nervous laughter and there were looks of pure dread on some faces.

The wedding continued.

They said their "I do's" and we went off to party where the bride threw a temper tantrum and hid in the bathroom for 45 minutes, holding up dinner because she wasn't sent to the food line first. (just a little example of the childish behaviour that led to this outcome...)

The divorce is now final.

Someone spoke... but no one listened!

Date: 4/3/2002 5:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 50530    Wow how true that thunder was,I was in a wedding of my cousin and someone was calling a person just doing psssttpssst, the little church was quiet and after 20 seconds of that noise I yelled: Oh my God there's a serpent on the church, everyone began running and screaming looking for the snake, after explaining why I said that, the wife of my cousin almost killed me,it was very funny thought and now every time there's a wedding, everyone tell me not to do it again..........I am just waiting for the right moment.

Date: 4/3/2002 5:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 26303    Wow! No I haven't been at a wedding where it happened. But I remember asking someone what would actually happen if they did. Apparently, the wedding has to be called off, and the person who objected has one month to 'prove' why they shouldn't wed. You very rarely hear of it, and I wonder why it is still in the vows. Was it common way back when???? Take care,

Everyone cracked up laughing!! .....
