Lost in confusion
feeling disillusioned
by words that were spoken
and promises broken
while locked in seclusion
My fate has been deemed
no more fantasies dreamed
for you are no longer
and I am now stronger
reality is not what it seemed
For as I find inside of me
what others do see
the future that's making
is mine for the taking
unchained, unburdened, now free.
And as I close the door
the past will hurt me no more
my future seems bright
even if alone in the night

Through all of the days
spent trapped in your maze
left hurt and alone
with your feelings of stone
no longer begging for your praise.
For now I'll be the one
till it's all said and done
no one to drag me down
my face no longer to frown
Nevermore hiding from life's fun.
Never again shall I fear
when you come near
your fists will not hurt
nor your words that are curt
