Let me start by saying that if you don't know anything about genetics, then you probably shouldn't even bother to read this. For those of you that continue, I could use a little help on this homework I have. I'm very desperate and you guys have never steered me wrong! So hereare the three questions I couldn't answer...

2) Explain how the events of meiosis account for the law of segregation and the law of independent assortment.
3) How would Mendel's observations and conclusions have been different if many of the characteristics he studied, such as seed color and seed texture, had been controlled by genes located close together on the same chromosomes.
