Hope.......... By: Nameless

Hope is the root of heartbreak
and of broken dreams,
because Hope clouds your mind
and makes nothing as it seems.

Hope is too often false.
It's your heart's wicked deception.
It keeps your mind at bay
by destroying your perception.

Hope is like a lighthouse,
guiding ships to the shore,
when suddenly that light burns out
and your guidance is no more.

Many people have dreams
that they hold on to,
even when they know these dreams
never can come true.

They latch on to these dreams
like a climber grabs a rope,
not for the sake of reaching them
but only for their Hope.

But Hope is still so wicked
and evil in it's ways.
It bypasses your mind's reason
and with your heart it plays.

Hope can crush your heart.
Make a girl seem like perfection,
when all it really does
is set your heart up for rejection.
