Date: 3/18/2002 10:49:00 PM From Authorid: 36098 lets get some fact straight, korean war was a war we could not win as we lost more men there then any war combine. vietnam was a war we would of won if there weren't so much outcry back home as well as those people like jane fonda who help raise the moral of the enemy by sitting on their air artillery and spreading propaganda. we lost that war in somalia, or is that more of a battle? |
Date: 3/19/2002 1:17:00 AM From Authorid: 22080 somalia was a battle im sure it was a war to the soldiers but it was actually a battle a very sick battle made to attempt to keep peace korea i thought we won but no one really pays attention cause its the forgotten war why is it forgotten i dont know |
Date: 3/19/2002 4:35:00 AM From Authorid: 47296 No one won Korea. There has never been a peace treaty signed, only a cease fire agreement, with the present lines being the same as they have been for almost 50 years. The American military did not lose Vietnam, the politicians in Washington can take responsibility for that one. |

Date: 3/19/2002 8:07:00 PM From Authorid: 39360 Vietnam was a war that should never have been fought. It was a pointless waste of life. The war of independance was won with the help of the French, under General Rochambeau. World War 1 was a combined effort of all the allies, and as for WW 2, america was not going to enter, they only did cos they were attacked by Japan. Korea was not won. Other than that I can't help, sorry. |

I disagree with the War of Independence thing...think about it. The British were definitely not the victors...but who were they really fighting? WWI was not an a solo American victory, nor was WWII. Korea was officially NOT a war, so I don't think it's bein' counted. Vietnam was a disaster and they definitely lost that one. The Gulf War was little more than a snowball fight between 16-year-olds and 8-year-olds, the older of the two groups bein' the US. The War in Afghanistan is, in my opinion, a cover for establishing a foothold into that part of Asia. |
Date: 3/20/2002 1:56:00 AM From Authorid: 22080 korea wasnt won? thats why the US wont let them have anything bigger than a small army |
Date: 3/20/2002 3:44:00 AM From Authorid: 36098 jestr, you certainly know your history well...NOT! ..just because it was known as the forgotten war doesn't mean we won it but don't remember it *roll eyes* total death count on both side was very high. At Vietnam, our military was not defeated, in fact we did not lose a battle of any consequence. from a military standpoint, it was almost an unprecedented performance. The war was lost when we were ordered to leave nam and the locals eventually lose to the commies up north. |
Date: 3/20/2002 3:48:00 AM From Authorid: 36098 the war of independence, we would of won without the help of the french, they were just providing support. |
