The Bold and the Beautiful (not the soap opera)

About twenty-five years ago, when I was around fourteen or fifteen, I was alone one day and I was walking downtown. As I approached a bank, I noticed that two girls about my age had a little table set up and they were having a bake sale. They were both just sitting there and I had intended to walk right by since I was on my way to meet a friend or get to a movie theatre or something. I certainly hadn't intended to come across as rude as I supposed that they could tell by my gait that I was in a hurry to get somewhere. As I walked by, I guess one of them must have said something to me but all I really heard were the words, "Stuck up!" Well, I wasn't about to let it just drop right there so I stopped, turned and looked at her and then made the boldest move of my life. I calmly approached their table, leaned over and proceeded to kiss her squarely on the lips. I then said, "Who's stuck up?" She was speechless! I didn't utter another word. I simply turned and continued on my way. I think I heard them giggling in the distance.
