Shelly's arrival:

*Flashback* It was six months ago. Maybe seven. A visit to the local hardware store in town to pick up some nails for the loose wooden floors back home was put on hold long enough. Paul twisted left ankle was a direct result of stepping into one. While the ankle is fine now, the whole ordeal was not.

While observing the large array of nails available, his mind flashes back to the ankle incident over three weeks ago.

It all started while he was taking his nuke'd TV dinner from the kitchen microwave into the living room. It was Swanson's Fried Chicken which comes with mash potatoes, corn bits and a lil' apple cobblet, his favorite. He was really looking forward to enjoying da meal ever since he woke up that morning over 8 hours ago. Okay, that might seem strange to some but soo what; Paul didn't really care. It's hard finding something to look forward to these days.

'AAAUUUUHHHHHHGGGGGGG#%$^!@#'d!!!! cried Paul from da top of his lungs when he fell face down, smacked to the floor. The scream wasn't from him falling but of his face landing on the ~HoT~ mash potatoes. It provided cushion somewhat during impact but still ....it was piping hot! Next to him was an open floor board where he had stumbled. When he tried to get up, he quickly felt a sharp sting coming from his left leg. He clutched his ankle in deep agonizing pain. Unable to move without aggrevating it more, he just laid there crying. Soon enough, he had cried himself to sleep, hoping this will be a bad dream when he wakes up.

ZZZZzzzz zzz zz z.. *snoring sound echos through the house at night*

'What tha??' as Paul quicky rises up from where he lay. He felt something in his nostrils. Wiping the food off from his face and blowing his nose with his other hand, he notice ants on his palm, his legs, everywhere. A trail of ants leading to the front door had found their way to his spoiled would-be feast. Glancing at the clock...it's 7 am in the morning. Sigh... it wasn't a dream after all' as Paul sat there on the floor looking up with both hands open, as if hoping for a miracle to come and carry him away from this misery.

*tap tap* 'Excuse me sir, hello?'

Feeling his shoulder being touched, he turn around, startled. Standing before him was this girl with such magnetism. She had long, dark straight hair flowing softly down to her waistline, glimmering blue eyes with a light hazel coat around the edges, and a full pouty, catlike red lips. She has smooth light skin and a very sexy figure ...sorta reminds him of Catwoman in her cat outfit from the Batman movie. You get the picture :)

'Is everything okay?' she asked.

Paul was standing there with nails in his hands and that look of total surprise on his face; his mouth wide open, not sure why. 'I worked here at the store. Did you find what you were looking for?' she asked again.

Paul just stares at her motionless, mouth wide open, as if ...nevermind.

'I'm sorry to bother you but...umm shall i leave?' she replied.

Paul still motionless.

'Hello! are you like IN there??' ..as she taps her temple.

Not one movement from Paul.

'Earth to whoever you are....come innn!?!' in a higher pitch tone.

She move closer to Paul and suddenly notice his right eye winked at her.

'Ya Weirdo!!!' she snapped, as she walks off in disgust.

Paul was speechless, motionless but his eyes followed her as she walks down the isle, then out of view as she turns the corner.

It was really an uncontrollable twitch, a side effect from the medication he was taking. But what really happen here...just now? Paul wondered. What caused him to froze up like that?? He wasn't really the shy type but something cause him to act like a fool.
