Unusual Blends

I wrote a post here recently which was called, "The Bottomless Pit." In it, I went into great detail in describing our favorite buffet. The reason I bring this up now is that I was just thinking about how cultures often tend to blend. At our buffet, for example, you can get meatloaf and mashed potatos or pepper beef with rice and an eggroll. What a contrast in culinary styles! I thought of this because my wife and I were watching a little bit of the Olympics. It's getting late and I'm very tired right now so I can't think of the name of the event but if I tell you that it's where cross-country skiers shoot at targets with rifles, I think you'll know what I'm talking about. What kind of a combination is that? They should have one where they do something like bowl one frame and then bench press some weights or maybe they could wash a car as fast as they could and then run a mile. While the ice skaters were on, my wife, Bride of Frankenstein, amused me by suggesting that the rock group KISS should do an ice show. They would be in costume and in full make-up but they could have blades on their platform boots. LOL.. We have an auto parts factory in this town so we have a fairly large Japanese population. I'll know that our cultures are starting to truly blend the first time I'm in a restaurant and I hear one of them ordering a peanut butter and jellyfish sandwich. LOL..
