Do You Believe In Animal Spirits??? -MaceyHope

last year, on march 22, one of my rottweilers was hit by a car and died. i was devestated. actually, i am still battling depression because of it. anyway, shorty after he was killed, i was sitting at the computer writing poems about him and i heard him bark. he had a very distinct bark so i knew it was him. my labrador, who was laying on the floor next to me heard it too. we both went running around the house looking for him, but found nothing. since my lab heard it too, i had a hard time writing it off as my imagination. so to me, it proved that he was still with me. at first i was very distraught and i cried the rest of the day. but then i realized that it should not upset me but comfort me instead becuz now i know his life still goes on.

then one night, my friend and i were walking into her house. we had been talking about Tyson (my dog)and how sad i was that he wasn't in this physical life with me anymore. when we walked in side my friends small refrigerator was shaking up and down (like up off of the table). it scared the crap out of us. my friend starting screaming at me to unplug it so i reached over to do so only to see that it was not plugged in at all. since we had just been talking about him and how much i was grieving for him, could this have been tyson telling me not to be sad, that he was fine and still with me? i hope it was. espgirl's post about what triggers ghosts and spirits is what prompted me to write this story. http://www.unsolvedmysteries.com/usm219588.html

i have alos had numerous other experiences since than too.

i am still grieving for tyson. i do not have any children and i considered him to be my child. my depression is so bad that i had to quit working and i have now filed for disabilty. i am in therapy now so hopefully i can heal from this and once again become a productive member of society. i feel really crappy about being on disabilty. i am also struggling with guilt becuz i feel like if i had checked the fence more often, he would not have been able to get out into the highway. maybe i shouldve posted this under depression.

has anyone else ever gone thru what i am going thru?? or has anyone else ever contacted the spirit of a deseased animal that you knew in life? -MaceyHope

How it changed my life:

this has changed my life in a way where i am now convinced that there is an afterlife, therefore i am not as scared to die as i once was

Date: 2/13/2002 6:46:00 AM  From Authorid: 24673    We have lost a lot of precious animals over the years and many of them have let us know that they are okay. It is soooo difficult to get over the empty feeling, but we eventually do. You are also trying to deal with guilt and that takes a lot longer. Good luck to you. bye
Date: 2/13/2002 6:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 47235    Sorry you lost your dear pet. I do believe he was there with you on that day. My dad used to live in a place where he said every night when he would get into bed, he could feel a cat jump on the bed and lay on his legs. He always looked but never seen anything. I hope you feel better soon. 'Razzles'
Date: 2/13/2002 8:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 49459    I lost a cat last summer. I think I see him around once in a while. I wrote about one experience(My Gaurdian Cat). I know how horrible it is to deal with a loss of a pet. They are like children. Just remember that your dog will always be with you in spirit. I am sorry for your loss. Things will get better. Date: 2/13/2002 2:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 16023    I have never been this upset over a pet. I had one of my birds to die in my hands...poor thing. But I have never been seriously depressed over an animal dying. But I do believe that our pets will actually stick around with us for a little while to make sure that we are ok. When my cat Kitty died I heard her meow for weeks after she died.

Date: 2/17/2002 5:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 46699    it's true that animals return to us after they die. I had several experiences recently but the most important one was june of 01. My beloved, cherished cat of 22 years had to be put down for kidney failure, before she died she ran to me on the table at the vet and pressed her head into my chest as if to hug me for the last time. I held her in my arms until she passed crying my heart out but she is no longer in pain. 29 days passed and she returned to me in my dream where I felt her soft, long fur, felt her touch, we look into each other's face and I knew she is waiting for me and is happy. Then last month I woke up suddenly to find the bottom of the bed blanket was lifting up, what it was is that she would crawl under my blankets each night to sleep with me near my stomach, I felt her fur and her nudging me so I calmly called her name out and returned to sleep. Animals always returned to their loved ones. Take comfort in it because we will meet again wen we leave.
Date: 2/18/2002 2:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 6050    I believe it to be so..I too am sorry at your loss been there more times than i care to remember I mentioned in some other post about how my cat used to jump through my window where the glass had been broken out..and my bed was right next to the window and it would make me jump..startled me...anyhow..my cat was killed and after that i would sit there ..and my curtain would blow to the side and i literaly felt something jump on me..just as he once had
