I guess were living in an age now where anything can be invented, designed, developed or discovered.
Doctors are developing artificial wombs in which embryos can grow outside a womans body. Yes that is right. ARTIFICIAL WOMBS. The work has been hailed as a breakthrough in treating the childless.
Scientist have created wombs made out of cells exracted from a female. Embryos then were successfully attached to the walls of these laboratory wombs and began to grow. The experiments were terminated after a few days to compy with regulations.
I dont know about you but this sounds kind of sci-fi frankensteinish to me. I remember the first time my wife told me to feel our child kick while she was pregnant, to this day I was amazed at the feeling. It was the Miracle of Life kicking against my hand. I could not see myself going to a lab to check how the "pregnacy" was going. I do not know if the "bond" of child and parent would be the same using the artificial outside the natural order method. Of course everyone is different.
The Progress in this field of Artificial Birth has raised many ethical debates . From feminist saying that this would mean that men could eliminate women from the planet. Of course I would say this is a bit extreme afterall who would tell me to pick up my socks, who would change the radio station in the car while I was listening to my favorite song(That last part was for my wife to read).
Other ethical debate issues from abortion to gay couples giving "birth" to children, From companies not having to give maternity leave to health insurance companies having more say so in how you have a child.
I personally would wonder how this would affect adoption.
