PowerTools for AOL Every time your child has an instant message with someone, this program saves it as a simple document on the hard drive that you can open later and read like an email or text document. Visit: http://www.bpssoft.com/PowerTools/pt_comp.htm

Cyber Sentinel This Internet filtering software filters out sexually explicit material but protects against exposure to online predators and pedophiles in chat rooms, instant messaging and e-mail. Visit: http://www.securitysoft.com

Date: 2/8/2002 11:39:00 AM  From Authorid: 44952    These are very interesting! i always make sure who my little brother is speaking to and normally sit with him to be extra careful! Thanks again for a very informative post!!
Date: 2/8/2002 11:50:00 AM  From Authorid: 27046    I don't know maybe its just me but these things wouldn't be necessary if children were only allowed to access the internet when a parent or guardian was with them. There are ways to LOCK the computer when you go to bed and when you are not going to be home so they can't access. However these are good to know if you choose to allow your children unsupervised visits to the internet...

Date: 2/8/2002 1:24:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 277    Azairyia, I agree with you that kids should be supervised on the net. My children are both under 5 years of age, so they don't do anything on the internet. But, let's be realistic here. The parents who have young teens probably assume that the kid is old enough to know right from wrong and what information to not give to a stranger. This is the reason so many young people have been hurt by perverted adults on the net. These websites are obviously necessary for a lot of people.
Date: 2/8/2002 1:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 10534    PowerTools for AOL...tsk tsk I'd hate it if my parents read all my convos...That's invading my privacy..I'd be so mad! LMao But yeah, I guess these are good programs...My parents trust me on the net so they don't need to use any thanks for sharing
Date: 8/21/2002 2:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 225    Hawk thanks for the info I dont have any children yet but i do have nieces that use the net. Theres no telling what kinda person she is chatting with. Sometimes I feel like logging on under her name and just seeing what these people say to her.
