Yeah...i was just informed of the "half moons" by my "beauty" friends...the ones that are like obsessed with their nails...they are apparently on ALL your fingers...but if you can't see them then that means your cuticles need to be moved back so the white "half moon" shows up...it is like a cuticle stick thingy that you need to push your cuticles back....i pay NO attention to my nails and cuticles... and my friends were like..."Ewww...your cuticles are overgrown...you need to push them back"...lol...i was like whatever...so i just thought i would fill you in... ~~Kimster =)  |

For some reason my comment didn't show up...well, thank you all for your comments. I wondered if it meant you were lacking something (vitamins or something), but wasn't sure. I only have them on my thumb, index and middle fingers, visibly, and they get smaller the further away from my thumb they go. I don't mess with my nails too much either...having long nails drives me nuts...lol...that's a really nice thought Panther Lover   |

I was told that they showed the amount of calcium in your body. If the "half moons" shrink, then you are loosing calcium. I'm not sure if it's true though.  |

I was told that's the area in which your nails 'breathe' I remember when I was little my mother would paint all my nails but leave the moon unpainted. LOL! *Shrugs* It has something to do with your cuticals that's all I honestly know. soooo apparently their just there to make people ask what they are and what they are for. lol  |
