Recently I was at another discussion site (kind of like a message board, but not--same as this site) and I wanted to post a discussion. It was just a normal discussion, no flames or anything, much like you see at this site.
I came back the next day and it was filled with flames. Some people were yelling at everybody (not just me though a lot was focused at me) that we were sad & had no life.
Well of course I left the site and won't be going back, but it's sites like that which make me happy to have found USM, where all discussions can be civil and G-rated, without dealing with flames.
