Graduation
I step up to the platform
My heart is beating fast
The only thing running through my mind
Is everything in the past
But now all that is over
I begin a new phase of life
Time to go to college
Get a job and find a wife
Graduation day
The thing I always dreaded
Is now the most wonderful thing
As I think of where I’m headed
I’m handed my diploma
My eyes are filled with tears
This is the end of a long journey
One that lasted 12 wonderful years
Our little group of friends
That were always so close and tight
Will never see each other
Except in our dreams at night
I will move away from home
Away from my parents who I love so much
I will miss my fathers lectures
And my mothers loving touch
I realize that life is so wonderful
I am so happy to be alive
I am now all grown up
I am the class of 2005
