If you are a family member and have the persons social security number you can call the nearest military installation for info. on how to find them. classmates.com has a military section to find people in the military. |

Definitely counts! If there has been a death or family emergency you can contact the red cross. They will get a message to him, but they would need to know his social security # and where he is stationed. They could find out where he is stationed if you don't know in an emergency case. I used to be the ombudsman for my husbands submarine. I helped the wives and parents while the guys were deployed. Do you know what ship/boat he's stationed on? Is he just at sea and you want to know where? Or do you not know where his home port is? Sorry for all the questions, but it would help me to help you... |

Actually, I read that wrong, I thought you said you were his mother. If you're not married to him no one can give information to you about deployments or anything unless he specifically requests that you be put on the wives phone tree. If theres an "urgent" (life or death matter) problem with your child then call the red cross. But, if you are married answer the questions I left above and I might be able to help. |

You could call the American Red Cross I suppose. Also you might try a navy recruiting office for information on how to go about it. |
