The old "count to ten" usually does the trick. If ever you feel like lamping someone, stand there with your arms by your side, count to ten and then think to yourself the consequences of hitting or whatever you want to do and you won't want to hit them any more. Think of yourself more than the other person. Good Luck *Farleys* |

I agree with my bro in law here, try counting to ten... or removing yourself from the situation until you can calm down... stress is not good and the whole world out there doesnt care whether you are angry or not... so it is so much better to learn to deal with it.. Good luck honey!!! |

Hmmmm...I'm sorry you are going through this, Future. I guess we all go through it too. I know I sure do. How about going for a walk to calm down and get away for a minute and think....or if it is a chronic problem maybe talk to a counselor. I have found that having an impartial third person to talk to about the things that stress you out really helps....it gets it all off your chest but also helps you to see things more clearly and know what you really think and feel. Just a suggestion. I hope you get some time (since as you say your step-father is going away for a while) to have some calm time. *Hugs* |

Hi future emt *hugs* Stress can be good, as long as you don't let it get the better of you. It can get your blood pumping, and it can actually make you more productive. I would suggest some relaxation techniques such as meditation. Hope this helps. *hugs* |
