OMG I would sue...she should not have done that. I only ever had my nails done in a salon a few times and I watched what they did and now I just do my own at home. If you soak them in the acetone, it dosent hurt when they come off, cause its breaks the nail apart. Im sorry you got an infection from it, but its very easy to get if the people dont know what they are doing. I would send them your doctor bill and make them pay for your meds. I would also tell them you want a refund for the money you paid to have them removed and if they dont wanna comply, Id be asking a lawyer about it. They shouldnt be in buisness if they dont know what they are doing, and not steralizing the tools??? yuk....Good Luck in whatever you decide to do..*huggies* |

I'm sorry to here that, and Ido hope you get better. What that woman did to u was wrong. If I were in the situation I would have made her stop and talked to the head person over her. It looks like she had no experience at all, and it really does sound like a lawsuit to me too. Get well soon Bluebutterfly |

Hmmmm....well, I know you are no whimp, Hawk. So...if you say it hurt, it must have really hurt. LOL. It really does sound like this person didn't know what she was doing....not just because it hurt, but because the tools weren't sterilized. I wonder how much repeat business she gets....sounds like a nightmare to me! |

Ouch! I used to get my nails done every week. It's been about two years since I've had them done...LoL. Mostly because my typing teachers won't allow you to have them. Ahhh...I miss my nails too. BUT enough about me.... When I had to have an old set removed my nail tech ALWAYS allowed my nails to soak in acetone for like thirty minutes before she would take them off. What that woman did to you was just MEAN! I would find a better more professional nail salon. Best wishes, |

Oh my, I'm sorry. That lady obviously either didn't know what she was doing or she was in a hurry. Whenever I get my nails taken off they let them soak for almost 30 minutes. Cloudfire |

I'm too scared to have acrylics put on and I'm a cosmetologist! Every state has requirements to be certified to do this kind of work, and hygenic standards that each salon and operator must uphold. If you don't sue, at least call someone on the State Board and let little Miss "Pliers Happy" be subject to a surprise inspection. Maybe her license could be revoked... |

You can get them off yourself with pure acetone(get from like Sallys),you can soak them for about 30 min & prevented the pain.I doubt you have a lawsuit. Be more careful next time w/the people you deal with. |

I know how rough some of those nail technitions can be. I used to get mine done too, and they were rough when they were putting on the first set for me. I always took my own off. As far as the nail fungus goes, How long did you wait before you went to get new ones put on? The separation in your nail would allow water to get in and may not necessarily be the fault of the other lady who did your nails. I know because that happened to me. I've since started growing my own nails. It's cheaper and less painfull. Good Luck, Lyndy |

I know that this is a really old post but, I have been getting my nails done for years. I have had them removed both by pulling them off and acetone. If the nails are really old, say you left them for three weeks since your last appt to have them removed, it shouldn't hurt. If you told her that it hurt, then she should have soaked them in acetone. I remember that you are in California, if you call the licensing board and they send someone under cover, they could possibly lose their license and be shut down. Most likely the under cover person will have to make several visits because salons usually don't relax until after they get to know you. I am sorry that you had a bad experience. |
