Hi all. This is just another story from a rural Iowa town. Their was a house that stood on what some say is cursed land. It was a 2 story house with old oil pictures, an american flag & other various rundown items. They say that a mother lived their with her son. The son went of to war & the mother stayed their waiting for him to return. They say he died in combat & that his mother died shortly after of a broken heart. The flag that was in the home they say was the flag that rested on the soldiers coffin before he was buried.
People say that she never left the house & that he returned to her as he promised to long ago. You can see a man's shadow walk by the windows in the unstairs & at night you could see what looked like a light that moved through out the house. They said that if you stood in the yard for an hour that you would sink into the ground & that arms would pull you in. Also the older people said that the cellar was protected by some kind of spell or entity & that if you went into the cellar that their were 2 swords that belonged to the soldier that would cut your head off if you tresspassed in his territory.
THey tore down the house long ago. I was still a teenager but it wasn't before I experienced some of the weird happennings on the property. I saw the shadow & light for myself. It was something that I would never forget. Tehy said that if his eyes glowed red that you would die. I never waited to find out. Their is another home their now but the question is are the old occupants still their?
